    This location, SAN airport, did not have the size car I reserved (premium) and made no attempt to provide anything even close - nor did they refund the difference in cost. We had to pick a car from the emerald aisle (Nissan Altima / Honda Civic) which was not large enough for our group. Would not recommend going here if you have specific needs for your rental.

    I have been using National as my car rental of choice for the last 3 or 4 years. They are a bit cheaper than other companies and I haven't had an issue since using them. I like that you can pick out the car you want. The customer service has been excellent whenever I needed to interact with anyone from National. I will contunue using them.

    Honestly, one of the best experiences I’ve had with renting cars. They were fully transparent, no one was trying to pressure me into any extras, staff was gracious and professional from beginning (even at 1 am pickup!) to end—even when I was late dropping off. The process was quick and seamless, and the car was reliable and extremely clean. 10/10 would definitely use again.

    Ok wow! Adrian, the night manager, really help make our week work trip start off right. After flight delays, and cross country travel, my Coworker and I felt like we were the only ones in the rental car center very late at night. And trying to find a car that will suit us, and our specific travel needs needs, was starting to become daunting. Combine all that with the lack of sleep, and we were aimlessly walking around, trying to pick a vehicle in the Emerald aisle. But Adrian, the manager, stepped in to save the day. He asked our needs. I was looking for a vehicle in the Emerald aisle, and Adrian said he had something that was just returned. That would do better for us than any car that we were currently considering. he ran off to another location in the garage, and came back with something that was big enough, comfortable, and perfect for our week work trip. Plus his upbeat attitude towards two weary travelers was beyond amazing. I travel a lot and this location and Ontario California have been the best I have seen most recently. I have been renting with National for most of my professional career. Their attention to detail and customer service really helps you feel like they care about your business.

    The guys downstairs at the main national car rental desk were entirely unhelpful. They just sent us upstairs. It would have been helpful to know what tier we were and how the process worked. We had all of our luggage and my entire 6 person team was with me. We had just walked off a shuttle from the airport. We spent a lot of time walking around the parking garage trying to figure out how to get the Luxury SUV I had booked a month prior. The free for all was very disorganized. People where jumping in cars before we could get there to get the right size. Why book a specific size and style if we just get thrown into the pit of first come first serve? Then it took forever to verify all the information that I had already entered online once we found a car that would accommodate our size and luggage amount. Very frustrating. If none of the prep work or customer service is going to be a priority then it is not worth the money. The only saving grace was that we finally found a sweet woman upstairs at the kiosk to point us to some suburbans that were not even in the "available" section of cars. Once we left the rental car experience was fine and as expected.
