I ordered a set of 4 tires online at a list price of $285 each, which was significantly cheaper than anywhere else online. They also quoted me $37 for shipping. They called the next day to confirm the order and the tire size. Everything seemed great. These are unusually large performance tires, Pirelli P Zero PZ4 in 295 / 35 /23.
A couple days later, they call and say they dint have and can't order these tires. After some discussion, I asked them to email me a list of what tires they can get in that size. The sent me a list of tires and the first on on the list is EXACTLY the same tire I ordered. Not a different variant...exactly the same tire but unter a different part number and with a $600 list price and $600 for shipping.
My guess is that they inadvertently listed the wholesale part number that they'd sell to another dealership instead of the retail price. Not my fault but it wasted my time and energy and they didn't budge on offering me any type of discount much less honoring their advertised price.
I took my brand new 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness to this dealer to have a Subaru OEM trailer hitch installed. They returned the vehicle to me in this condition, and I only noticed the damage when I arrived home and inspected the rear bumper. The damage is a deep gouge in the rear plastic bumper cover next to the hitch cutout and, because it is plastic, it cannot simply be repaired or buffed out. I was leaving the next day for Colorado to start a new job and needed the hitch to tow a trailer, so I could not leave the car for days of body work. The dealer later told me my options were: drive 1,200 miles back to San Diego so they could replace the bumper cover in-house, or accept $500. A quote from my local Subaru dealer in Colorado to replace the bumper cover is approximately $1,700, so $500 will not make me whole. When I asked for their insurance information so I could open a claim, they refused to provide it. In trying to figure out who ultimately stands behind this dealership, I researched the ownership and learned the dealership group is owned by a Mexico-based entity, which made it even harder to get clear accountability. Subaru corporate also declined to help, stating that the dealer is an independent contractor. In contrast, when a Cadillac dealer damaged my vehicle years ago, Cadillac corporate followed up after the visit and, once informed of the issue, had the dealer provide approximately $2,000 in Cadillac‑branded merchandise as compensation. I expected at least a comparable level of support from this dealership and from Subaru. I now have a brand new Subaru with a large gouge in the rear bumper, and no reasonable solution offered to cover the full cost of proper repair. Based on this experience, I would highly advise caution when doing business with this dealership, especially if you expect Subaru to stand behind the work performed in their name.

Twice now we have brought our Forester to Kearny Mesa Subaru when a computer issue came up while visiting San Diego. Both times they assisted us quickly to diagnose the issue and didn't even charge us. Turned out to be a warranty issue that was repaired by the Subaru dealership near where we live.

Erika, the service writer was courteous and professional. The cost of maintaining a car through this dealership is cost prohibitive and their recommendations are contrary to the trusted mechanics I usually do business with. Today I had six different sensor lights on after some severe weather and my usual mechanic does not tamper with proprietary Subaru tech. They reset the lights and then recommended $11,000 in other repairs, shortly after texting me saying they would like me to consider selling them my car and buying a new one. Please put down the capitalist pipe and treat customers with respect and fair prices.

Kearney Mesa Subaru, so far has been an absolutely wonderful experience, even before my husband and stepped foot at the dealership!
We knew that we were interested in the Forester with the Wilderness package in the color white, silver, or gray.
So we called the nearest dealership, which was Kearney Mesa and talked with Ahmed. We made an appointment with him for the next day, and he showed us the 3 of the Foresters in each color. It was so simple and amazing. Ahmed was prepared for us with the vehicles ready to checkout and drive.
When we decided to purchase the gray one, we talked with Summer in finance, and she was great as well! She also helped us pick out a warranty program as well as the benefits of a ceramic coating for the paint coat protection.
So happy that Subaru also offered a class to take, to learn and understand your new vehicle. Let's face it...cars today are very high-tech/computers on wheels.
So, we signed up to take the class at the 2 week mark, and met another quality employee, Cameron. He was so patient, understanding for us techno-phobes, and so very knowledgeable! He even offered to give another session down the road if I would need any more help or a refresher class!
It was such a friendly, low stress, non pressure selling atmosphere, and they all just let the vehicle sell itself...no one came across fake!!!
I highly recommended this dealership with the employees that my husband and I met!!! 🥰👍👌💖
