Intoxalock company start up billing issues, I have a past due payment and I just opened the account, first week, Bi-weekly payments should be a payment option, not a requirement.
My Service Sound Check installed the unit ($400)with out DMV-920 which took about 4days to be mailed, not able to drive the car due to incomplete installation paperwork, there was no need to install the unit rushed on a Saturday, which they did.
My opinion,Before using
Intoxalock unit and installation, should researched for all installation companies pricing, and consider when the DMV 920 would be delivered, no reason to install the unit before hand And confirm bi-weekly payments, which makes no sense.
Last but not least,
Intoxalock customer service didn't make all changes I requested, I refused to do the survey, requested billing adjustments weren't done. I had to call back to re address the same overbilling
Overall, Adjustment still not addressed, and I gave a great survey review, (I regret it, and I will refuse taking all future surveys.
$400 installation fee (on a Saturday unessesaraly)
$40 shipping fee
$83 after 7 days
$53 bi-weekly payments not optional
And probably high calibration charge removal charge, I have yet to experience.
This is pure greed !!!!
Intoxalock billing system is constantly terrible.
Classic situation of companies taking advantage.
P.S.
I retract my initial positive review,it was only regarding the installers son Adian who performed the installation professionally.
All consumers Beware!!!

They are a bunch of bullshit . I was not able to get my device installed the same day of my installation appointment due to the person who was installing my device arrived early my appointment time was at 12 the person arrived at 10:30. And tried to charge me $100.00 more on top of my initial agreement due to the time frame the waited . That was not ageeed on by the service person on the phone. To me that is unfair, unjust, and not correct on all kinds of levels very unappropriate very unprofessional. this occurred on a Friday morning, the towing yard where the person was going to install Device close Friday at 5 o’clock at 5 o’clock and they’re closed for the weekend. One of the agreement was for me to install this device on my car so I can get it released from the tow yard now I have to pay $300 more to get my car out of the Tow yard on Monday morning, does that seem correct and fair to you guys? It was not my fault. The person arrived at 10:30 when the initial appointment was for 12 o’clock do you think it’s fair and it’s part it’s right for me to have to pay $500 more because this person arrived at 10:30 and my appointment was at 12 o’clock $500 that I do not have. I had everything in line 260 and I paid the 150 for the release of my vehicle at the police department. Everything was in line and now I’m $500 short of getting my car released from.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

Installing an ignition interlock device typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on your vehicle type. Certified technicians ensure the device is properly installed and provide you with training on how to use it. Contact Intoxalock for an appointment and an accurate time estimate for your installation.
What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
Yes, in most cases, you can install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle you regularly drive, even if you’re not the registered owner. However, the vehicle owner must provide consent for the installation. Intoxalock works with you and the owner to ensure compliance with state regulations and the successful setup of the device.
What should I do if my ignition interlock device locks me out?
If your ignition interlock device locks you out, it’s usually due to missed tests, failed tests, or state-specific requirements. Intoxalock offers a simple lockout override process in most cases to help you get back on the road quickly. Contact Intoxalock customer support for assistance and to understand the steps needed to resolve the issue.
