  I used Dualtone several times years ago and was happy with their work, but my recent experience was a shock. I came in for a simple alignment after buying new tires, but I was told the car was "unsafe to drive" and handed a repair estimate for $5,650. After getting second and third opinions from independent Toyota specialists, I discovered that the information provided by Dualtone was highly misleading and, in some cases, factually impossible. The Major Issues: • The Power Steering "Leak": This was the most egregious error. They claimed my Rack and Pinion assembly was leaking fluid and needed a $2,300 replacement. The 2008 Highlander has Electric Power Steering (EPS). It does not use power steering fluid. The liquid they saw was a known engine oil leak. They tried to sell me a remanufactured part to replace a perfectly functional OEM system. • The "Discount" Trap: I was quoted $1,600 for control arms, which supposedly included a "$1,000 labor discount." In reality, they used the "book time" (which assumes an engine pull), knowing full well there is a standard workaround that reduces the labor to a few hours. The "discount" was a sales tactic, not actual savings. • Misrepresented Urgency: I was told my control arm bushings and CV boots were critical failures. My mechanics confirmed that while they show wear and will need to be replaced sometime, they are functioning fine right now and do not require immediate replacement. • Inaccurate Brake Measurements: Dualtone claimed my rear pads were at 2mm (replacement depth). They are actually at 4mm—still safe for several thousand more miles. The Bottom Line: Dualtone pressured me (“these estimates are good for a day or two”) and safety scares for repairs that were either unnecessary, misrepresented, or technically impossible for my specific vehicle. I was also disappointed to learn they didn't offer to combine labor for the axles and control arms, which would have reduced their bill by $500+. I am disappointed to write this as I was extremely satisfied with several alignments they did for me years ago, but the level of misinformation in this visit was too significant to ignore.

  Angel was truly a service professional with my unusual service today and it got me out of a jam with the Smog Testing Facilities been a customer for 15 years and highly recommend Dualtone. Not many companies have been opened since 1946 and they have been for a reason. Do not hesitate to get service from them, call now!
