- AGAzzarel GonzalezNov 27, 20252.0One rude employee and a “Taco Bell” joke cost them a Jaguar customer in under 30 seconds This was the very first shop I tried after buying my 2004 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas. Guy on the phone was cool, made an appointment, dropped the car off, left it for hours. Came back hoping for a normal update.Instead, while I’m standing there one of the employees goes, “This isn’t a waiting area, what do you think this is, Taco Bell?” The polite guy said they’d need it a few days. Then the Taco Bell line sank in. I stopped, pointed at the rude one, said “Yeah, but he was just rude for no reason,” grabbed my keys, and walked. He started back-pedaling as I left. Struggled for a while to find a good shop. Maybe thats why he thought he could get away with being rude, being behind a desk and knowing not many people will fix these cars. Eventually I found another shop (Recommended by the Jag dealer) One employee’s mouth cost this shop a lifelong British-car customer before they even turned a wrench. Hope the joke was worth it.
