Booked a vehicle so I would be able to pick it up the morning after my flight arrived. Took a lyft, got up to the counter and was told they dont take debit cards from my bank, only credit cards from them. Which is a prepaid version. Apparently because they think the debit card is prepaid and the credit isn't, and not to bother with some of the other places there as theyre technically the same company. The companies left would have taken it but had nothing available at the last minute. According to google, off airport locations would accept it, so i called to make sure and was told yes, if i went to the nearby office they DO accept my banks debit card. So i paid for another lyft back to that location that was right down the street from the hotel where id started. Got there and was told yes they take my card, but because i dont live in a 50mi radius they cant rent me a car. But if i go to the one at the airport, they can take it as long as i have proof of a return flight. Which i did. So i tried to call the airport location to tell them off for wasting my time and money, and turns out its all one number. But they couldnt understand why i was lied to. So they sent me to their manager to try to help override it to get me into a car. Manager said sorry, nothing they can do bc its up to the airport locations discretion. I should find someone with a credit card i could borrow. 3000 miles from home.
Ended up taking another lyft back closer to the airport to rent a car from turo for 1/3 the price and no hassle, except that the car I reserved was better suited for what i needed than the one turo had available. Thanks enterprise for wasting an entire day of my trip and over $100 in lyft fares
Someone failed to do their job and now enterprise is trying to pin a $1000 bill on me. Make sure when you pick up a car that you are incredibly thorough with your documentation. The damages that I am being accused of were practically invisible due to it being rainy and at night. I didn’t find out about these damage claims until over 20 days after I return the vehicle. For this reason, I thought that I was in the clear and had deleted my documentation. Thankfully, the a video I took was still in my recently deleted. Mind you, when I spoke with the claims department regarding this case, they were condescending, accusatory, and flat out rude. I am still waiting to hear back if I’m gonna be held accountable for damages that were clearly there when I checked the vehicle out. Be very careful renting from this location.

Moved out of California and had to come back to get certified paperwork to properly move my driver license to the state I relocated to. Saw the positive reviews here and thought Enterprise Rental would be great so I booked a reservation and paid extra for travelers insurance for my rental. I wanted to be extra cautious, so I brought copies of my paystubs, my car and home insurance declarations, copies of my travel tickets showing a round trip, and even my FAA license with my out of state address. I even had on hand my DMV print out with my change of address to out of state. I have good credit, I’m an engineer who makes six figures.
Well on the date of this review, I walked up with my license and all my documents to have a lady representative demand my license and immediately refuse to book. Apparently Enterprise Rentals at SMF per this lady who clearly hates her job stated they will not rent to ANY customer with a DL with a zip code that start with 9. 9 covers all of California which per the unhappy representative, Enterprise will not honor any reservations.
She refused to look at any docs and even refused to help cancel the reservation where I had to shell out for travelers insurance. I’m now out over 500 for travelers insurance and thanks to Enterprise at SMF had boom same day with for over 1200 to a competitor or face being stranded.
After this encounter, Enterprise will never get me back as a customer. I had no issues with their competitor who even apologized for how I was treated. Buyer beware! Hertz was a night and day experience in comparison.

They rushed thru processing, entering incorrect information and forging signatures. The agent who brought us to our rental lied to us about approved registered drivers as we shortly found out after taking the vehicle off the lot putting us in potential huge liability situation. You cannot contact them directly over phone as all calls are routed to corporate that already have strained availability for service. Also, preparations were not communicated from the sales agent who booked our reservation after i specifically asked, nor was it respected when we got there as they refused to release a vehicle to us. The whole experience was terrible and ruined our trip. I do not plan on using this service again!
We visited the area for 3 days and rented a compact car from Enterprise.
We loved that there was no line at the counter after we took the airport shuttle there. The gentleman who rented us the car was great. Knowledgeable, professional and very pleasant. I was thrilled to have a choice and picked a Toyota Corolla.
We've been driving Toyotas for the last twenty years and have a late model ourselves. This made knowing how to use it much easier. Most cars these days are not that intuitive to use, especially the Lidar cruise control, etc. We were also very pleased to connect my iPhone to AirPlay and have our GPS app on the screen. We used it the whole time we were driving around and it makes a trip to an unfamiliar area much more pleasant.
The car was a 2026, with only 6k miles on it, it still had a little of the new car smell. It was also sparkling clean, which isn't always the case when you rent.
I purposely chose Enterprise because of previous good experiences with the company in other locations. I'm certainly going to choose them again when I travel.
