The garage area was under construction so it was hard to find. Called them and someone came and showed us the way.
They were friendly, showed us how to work the device. Install was about 2hrs, no post install problems.

This place was “HIGHLY” recommended from the place Intoxalock since the young lady named Autumn assured me they were the “best in the business” I showed up for my apt between 9-10AM to be greeted by Niko(not his real name) the owner. He mentioned something about not being ready yet since he just started the day. He seemed overall overwhelmed with getting my paperwork started. I asked him how long it would take to install the equipment, which he responded only a few hours. I said great I’ll make sure I stay busy until It’s ready in Sacrmento and not head back to Jackson. While we filled out paperwork I noticed they also did vehicle detailing so I inquired about that and he quoted me a price. I asked if that was something he could get handled today as well as he said only if I leave the car until closing so his detailer could get the interior dialed in. I said great I can do that and pick it up in the morning so there is enough time to do both. We shook hands and I headed home. He assured me he would call/text when my vehicle was finished. Fast forward to the next day. No phone call/text ever comes and it’s now 10:00AM so I come majestic auto shop and start calling. I called and left messages and even sent text to no response or call back. I went ahead and called the place that recommended me to them to see if they could get ahold of him. They were able to get ahold of him immediately and they assured me my vehicle was done after speaking to him. I headed down to Sacramento to pick up my car. On the way to the shop he finally calls to tell me the car is finished and that his detailer went home sick so they didn’t get to the detail yesterday so if I wanted to leave it an extra day they could get to it the next day when his detailer returns since he has been home sick and not available to for work. I show up to pick up my car and the detailer accidentally comes into the office as I’m paying for the services that were actually performed. The look on his face was priceless and he closed the door in a hurry. All and all this was is a bad place for business. Niko lacks integrity which means it probably trickles downhill in his shop. Stay away from this place. I’ll will be finding a different place to do business in the future. STAY AWAY!

Bad business and plays games with the clients. They texted me all week telling me the equipment is ready so I was told I had an appointment early this morning, got to the building for the guy to tell me they don't have the equipment. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.
Where do I get an ignition interlock device?
Ignition interlock devices can be installed at certified service centers nationwide. Intoxalock offers a convenient network of locations and helps you schedule an installation appointment near you. Visit our Intoxalock locations page or call us to find the nearest service center and begin the installation process.
How long will my installation take?
Installing an ignition interlock device typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on your vehicle type. Certified technicians ensure the device is properly installed and provide you with training on how to use it. Contact Intoxalock for an appointment and an accurate time estimate for your installation.
What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
Yes, in most cases, you can install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle you regularly drive, even if you’re not the registered owner. However, the vehicle owner must provide consent for the installation. Intoxalock works with you and the owner to ensure compliance with state regulations and the successful setup of the device.
What should I do if my ignition interlock device locks me out?
If your ignition interlock device locks you out, it’s usually due to missed tests, failed tests, or state-specific requirements.
