- NBNancy BunSep 5, 20242.0The employees are very friendly and are honest, but overestimate their abilities. They say upfront that the color match is only 60% accurate and if you ask for samples they won't give you any. Really just blind trust that you're not lighting 50$ on fire, which you probably would be. Went first time, where they told me the odds and suggested we drive 30 mins to another Carquest where they have this "lazer" that could accurately detect the shade since the odds were so low. Once I got there, the employees there led a confusing conversation that ended with me finding out the lazer is plugged into the wall and is not portable so I needed to essentially break off a piece of my car to hand it to them in store (I was parked right in front of the entrance) and even then the color match is still only 60% accurate. Finally went back to this location because the service was friendly, and bought the paint. You can see the results for yourself (the paint they "matched" is on the left). It was completely off and horrendous, so I back to this location a third time to give them another chance and the employee brought out paper samples which he had previously said the store didn't have. After picking out an identical sample and a two hour wait, he called us to let us know that it's not possible to create the shade from the sample despite the promise that he would "get this color perfect". Overall a very horrible experience and a humongous waste of time. Finally got the color match from Mechanik in Laval at twice the price of Carquest.
