  I was treated very well by Enterprise during a recent rental in Palm Springs. They had run out of the type of car I have reserved so upgraded me to another level. It was very busy at the counter and I had to wait 45 minutes to get my car with the young woman at the counter was very lovely and professional. The car worked well. When I returned it, they asked if I had been delayed in picking up the car and I said yes, and they gave me quite a nice discount that was unexpected and very lovely. I had a very good experience with the Palm Springs Enterprise employees.

  I had a very disappointing experience at Enterprise Rent-A-Car at the airport location. When I first arrived, the employee assisting me offered me a Mazda SUV. I agreed and was perfectly happy with that option. At that time, he did not realize that my rental was being covered through an insurance claim. After I briefly stepped away to use the restroom, everything changed. Once he discovered that my rental was through my insurance, he reassigned me to a bright neon green Hyundai Kona. When I saw the vehicle, I politely explained that I was not comfortable driving a neon-colored car and asked about the Mazda SUV I had already agreed to. He told me that the Kona was “all he had” and that I didn’t have a choice. It’s hard not to feel like I was treated differently the moment he found out my rental was insurance-covered. Before that, I was offered options. After that, suddenly there were no options. The timing made it feel discriminatory and unprofessional. Customers using insurance claims should not be treated as lesser customers. Coverage is coverage, and we deserve the same level of service and respect as anyone else paying out of pocket. Very disappointed in how this was handled.

  Checked in on the app expecting to simply show my ID and be handed a key. Nope. The check in process still took at least 10 min per customer. And the line was VERY long. Ridiculous.

  Absolute worst! Avoid at all costs! I made reservation at the Indio location only to arrive when I needed to head out for my trip and find out nothing was available. I was told “the system likes to overbook”. No attempt to help me find another option. Then I called their customer service. They had 0 sympathy for what happened and could only accommodate me by having me go to Palm Springs and charge me another $150 on top of my previous reservation amount.
