  My experience with National Car Rental was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I arrived to pick up my rental vehicle, the gas tank was only half full. I immediately turned around and informed the staff so they could document it. They assured me they added a note to the account. However, when I received my final invoice, I was incorrectly charged for not returning the vehicle with a full tank — even though I returned it with more than half a tank, exactly as I received it. On top of that, during my rental period one of the tires went flat. I contacted National for assistance, but no replacement vehicle was provided and I ended up having to repair the tire myself out of pocket. A second tire later started losing air as well, and again I received no meaningful support from National. I had to buy an air pump at Walmart and refill the tire myself every single day for almost two weeks just to continue using the vehicle safely. This rental caused unnecessary stress, wasted my time, and cost me additional money that should never have been my responsibility. I expected much better customer service and vehicle maintenance standards from a company like National.
