  Cars are always great and the service at the local braches are great as well, HOWEVER, when it comes to dealing with the 800-Customer Service all of my experiences have been Aweful!!! Rude and completley not interested in helping with anything.....

  These guys were awesome to deal with. I reserved a Nissan Maxima, or similar car through booking.com. Upon arrival, they told me they didn't have any of those anymore. But since I paid for premium, the guy said I could have an Audi or a Mercades...I was actually a bit shocked because to me that seemed like a huge upgrade. The car itself was great, once I figured out how to turn on the AC and use some of the more technical features. Returning the car was also very easy, just drive in, check in and drop off. Super quick. I will definitely use National again if I need to rent a car. Pleasure to deal with. Thanks for the great experience.

  A fairly smooth process but I'd selected an Emerald Club car and most of the vehicles available were older models without Apple CarPlay which is a necessity when you're trying to navigate in a strange city with lots of traffic. I had to switch to one of the only cars with this feature as my first selection did not have it and the only other option was a minivan. The car was also an American model in a Canadian city so keeping within the speed limits was more challenging. I was also charged a small refuelling fee even though I filled it within a km of returning it.

  Not even one star! Rented a car from National Car Rental 4 days ago and ended up with a flat tire because the tire was already in poor condition. I took pictures of the tire and you can clearly see visible cracking and wear on the sidewall/edge of the tire, which does not look like a tire that should be on a rental vehicle. When I called for help, instead of assisting, they told me I had to pay extra for roadside assistance and said it was my responsibility to inspect the entire car before driving off. I was basically cornered into paying an extra $350 or they wouldn’t help me. Very disappointing customer service and zero accountability for the condition of their vehicle. Customers should not be given cars with questionable tires and then blamed when something goes wrong a few days later. This will definitely be my last time renting with National, and I would not recommend them based on this experience.

  I have rented from National for about 15 years mostly for work. They have always been great. They went above and beyond during my latest rental in Atlanta. I had forgot one of my bags in the back and realized it when I got to the terminal. I took the train back to the rental car center and one of the associates in the return area took charge to find my rental and bag. It took him 5 mins to track it down for me. The only reason I made my flight was due to this single associate going above and beyond the call of duty. Truly impressive.
