  Want a broken wheel bearing? How about an alternator that doesn’t fit your car? Autozone has you covered! Regrettably I give Autozone my business fairly often, because oreillys rarely has parts in stock. Well, it turns out that Autozone doesn’t have parts in stock either, apparently. 3 lies in a row last weekend. 1: “we can get you an alternator on Sunday.” They did not. It was Monday. When I got a notification saying my alternator was ready for pickup, that apparently actually meant the parts truck had left. In Bakersfield. 2: “we have that wheel hub assembly in our other store. It’ll be $39.99.” I got to the other store. It was $159.99. 3: “this alternator will fit your car.” It did not. Not even close, not like for the same car but wrong engine, or wrong year, no, it was completely different. Just save your sanity and use Rockauto. Unless you’re truly screwed and need your car back yesterday, it’s not worth the headache. The staff are nice and polite and fairly competent, but the parts are borderline fraudulent.

  THIS IS AN AMAZING STORE. THE MANAGER VANESSA IS AN AMAZING WOMAN AND SO SMART WHEN IT COMES TO WHAT ITEMS I NEEDED TO COMPLETE MY JOB!!!

  the general manager was very rude and unhelpful. do yourself a favor and drive 15 min to slo. she’s rude and unhelpful

  Half of the staff is completely incompetent: couldn’t even process a simple purchase and refund. Several employees saved the situation with their competence and efficiency (Brian and another long-time employee) in passing but the paradigm of completing a purchase then leaving the customer waiting while they help a whole bunch of other people before they give the customer the item they purchased is ridiculous. Once the transaction is initiated, it should be completed and done so correctly before moving on to the next customer. Also, rather than futz around trying to complete a transaction with an item they know nothing about, for the love of God, just seek out a colleague who DOES know what they are doing and do it right from the start. The incompetency trying to find the correct item (even given the VIN) and then charging for the wrong item (even though the customer is telling her from the start that it’s not the right item) then not being able to process the refund properly— well it’s just mind-boggling. Please please train newbies better or keep a close watch or something. Would have been zero stars were it not for Brian and the other gentleman who stepped in when she was over her head. But won’t go back to that auto zone. Can’t afford wasting 2 more hours just buy and install a new battery. Would rather stick a fork in my eye than have to deal with the woman who “helped” me
