I've been getting my oil changes at the same place for long time, but my recent visit left me stunned when I saw the bill. With around 200,000 miles on the car, I expected the oil service to cost about $57. While I waited in the office, an employee named Meanwhile approached me, briefly mentioned additional services, and took my signature without clearly discussing the costs. I assumed these services were included in the oil change. However, when I received the final bill, it exceeded $500, leaving me in shock. I spoke to the owner about the situation, but he simply pointed out that I had signed the paperwork, offering no further assistance.

Several others have reviewed this place regarding their pricing practices… specifically, quoting one price and then charging a different one. SpeeDee’s corporate account has responded to several of those reviews, and yet it happened to me again 30 minutes ago. I simply refused to pay more than the price I was told. I will avoid this and any other SpeeDee location and advise everyone else to do the same! I don’t care how justified they feel about their pricing practices. By the number of customers who have complained, clearly, how they quote and explain pricing is unclear / misleading. This place gives other hardworking and honest mechanics a bad reputation.
