Customer service, every time I had a phone conversation with them, when I got to Riverside to pick up the truck. Unfortunately, Home Depot's rental funds system was down after a few hours of Home Depot, employees, trying everything, me calling Penske and trying everything. Eventually, I was able to have them run my card over the phone and be able to take the keys and go. Their policy is that they never charge you over the phone, which I understand in most cases, but in this one, they needed to. I don't know if it's the time that we picked up the truck, which was after 1 o'clock on Saturday or because it was such a hassle to pick it up. But my drop-off date changed. Instead of it being Monday, it became Tuesday, and there were no extra charges. Despite the hiccup that we had at Home Depot, everything went great. Every time I use I have a wonderful experience. Ever since I stopped using u haul, they hung my go-to truck rental place.
- MMMattJul 2, 20221.0Do NOT rent from Penske. I reserved a 22 foot truck 4 months in advance to drive across the country on a move to Illinois. I reserved the truck at the earliest time of 9:00 AM. On the day of pick up, I didnt get my truck until 3:00 PM. Then I found out the hard way that the headlights did not work when it got dark and went to turn them on and nothing. I had to drive in the dark in the middle of no where for 2 hours and had to pay for a hotel for the night. Then the next day it took Penske half the day to get it sorted. I have zero confidence in this company. It cost me hundreds more in costs due to their negligence.
