Said “paying customers only” I have never in my life been told this in any service station in California. This is a courtesy every single station gladly provides since California made it law for fuel purchasers.

Employees could be a bit more conversational rather than a quick transaction. I drop in at least 3-4 times a week. Simple neighborhood fuel station.
