I had an emergency with my truck and urgently needed a coolant reservoir right away. I called ahead to do a stock check for part 603-054. The customer service rep checked the system and confidently told me, “Yes, we have it in stock.” I told him I’d be there immediately. I rushed over—even though they were getting close to closing—because I was relying on what I was told. I still arrived with more than 30 minutes before closing, so I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable. When I got there, the same employee pulled up the system again and walked to the back… only to return with the wrong part, a 603-056, and then told me they “couldn’t find the right one.” You could clearly tell he was just ready to go home and didn’t want to put in the effort to actually help. No real attempt to look again, no double-checking, nothing. Just a shrug and a dismissal. It was frustrating, especially because I called ahead precisely to avoid this. I had an emergency, I trusted their information, and I ended up wasting time and leaving without the part I desperately needed. I understand it was the last hour, but I still arrived with plenty of time—and good customer service shouldn’t clock out early. Overall, this experience was careless, unhelpful, and honestly just disappointing. I expected better from AutoZone.
