  Brian connected me with Ken the Manager of the El Cajon store. When I arrived I was treated very nice and was given full attention while I explained my issue. They had very reasonable prices for the services I needed. During the repair, I was kept informed on progress. The entire staff was friendly and well trained. I was impressed by the organization & cleanliness of the shop. I would highly recommend West Automotive Group for any service needs you may have. These guys really do care!

  Terrible shop! They overcharged me for something that takes literally 2 minutes for $200 and did NOT even bother to check what I specifically came in for. I feel absolutely scammed. They did not look at my transmission at all, they only did a top end check of plugs which I did not ask for. Only went here for a diagnosis quote and they can't even do that. This is why mechanics get an awful rap these days. As a mechanic wanting to save my own time, I won't bother. Will just rebuild the transmission myself or buy and install a new one myself for half the cost. Ridiculous.

  Took My car in on Monday, got it back in fine shape early Wednesday morning! Techs were gracious and knowledgeable. Very polite. My car feels energized!! Will continue to do business with this organization when needed!

  I was looking online for a reputable mechanic, which is harder to find than it should be, and I came across West El Cajon Automotive & Transmission because of their great reviews. I scheduled an appointment for Monday at 7 AM and dropped off my truck the night before so they would have it first thing when they opened. They called me mid-morning Monday to let me know they needed to run diagnostics first, which was $160. I gave them the go-ahead. I didn’t hear from them all day Monday or all morning Tuesday, so I gave them a call Tuesday afternoon. I spoke with Ken, who seemed really friendly and knowledgeable — the kind of guy that explains things in a way that makes you feel like your truck is in good hands and not about to be featured on a mechanic horror story. That’s when they told me it was the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. I gave them the green light to move forward with the repair. I ended up picking up the truck around 6 PM on Tuesday and the total came out to right $705. To be honest, I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad price, but at this point my truck runs and I’m happy, so we’ll call that a win. It’s been a few days now and the truck has been running pretty good so far. Overall, great place so far, great staff, and very easy drop-off process.
