- SGSuzy GarciaOct 1, 20251.0I am writing to formally report a deeply troubling incident that occurred at your gas station on September 30, 2025, shortly after 2:00 PM. My nephew was involved in an exchange with one of your clerks, an older African American gentleman after noticing he had been shorted $1 in change. When he politely asked about the discrepancy, the clerk became visibly upset. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, my nephew told the clerk to keep the dollar. However, as he was walking away, the clerk shouted at him to “go back to his country.” This comment was not only inappropriate and unprofessional, but also blatantly racist and xenophobic. I urge your management team to investigate this incident thoroughly, including reviewing any available security footage from that time. Such behavior is unacceptable in any workplace, especially one that serves the public. The individual involved should be held accountable, and appropriate disciplinary action must be taken. It is disheartening to witness Latino individuals being subjected to racial hostility particularly from someone who, as a member of another marginalized community, should understand the harm such remarks cause. I hope your organization takes this matter seriously and demonstrates a commitment to respectful and inclusive service.
