  Girlfriend's car wasn't starting, brought it to Gabriel's, explained that last year we had replaced the alternator and water pump due to oil leaking from the water pump onto the belt ruining the alternator. Explained that the new alternator was again covered in oil sludge so another oil leak was expected. Agreed to a $125 deposit that would be applied to future repairs. They called later stating that they needed to clean/detail the engine in order to identify the leak, and this would be $75. Fine. Called a few hours later, and stated that they cleaned the engine and the alternator and the car was running just fine. Went in, picked up the car and paid $200, drove home, turned the car off, then tried turning it on again and it wouldn't start. Called Gabriel and he stated he would be right out. He and a tech came out and tested the starter which was now identified to be the problem. Waited the weekend, dropped car off Monday morning and went back in the evening to pick it up. Charged $391 for alternator and labor. I asked that the $125 deposit be applied to this, and they refused. They stated 'That because it wasn't an oil issue like you originally said, we can't apply it. And we didn't charge you for 3-4 hours of looking for a non-existent leak, and we didn't charge you for coming out." Ridiculous. It's a deposit. Apply it to the charge. It' not my job to diagnose the problem, it's your job, hence the $125. Non-existent oil leak? The alternator and serpentine belt are covered in oil, it's more likely an inability or inexperience on your part that you are unable to accurately diagnose the problem. Lastly, you didn't charge for the house visit....this wouldn't have had to happen if you correctly diagnosed the problem in the first place. Bait and switch with the deposit, inaccurately diagnosed the problem the first time, and poor communication of charges. Needless to say I will never return and will continually advise others to take their business elsewhere.

What really stood out to me was how customer-focused they are. If you're curious about your car’s status, just send a text. Need a loaner? They’ve got you covered. Want to speak to the owner? He’ll call you back promptly. You’re not just another customer here—you’re treated as if you’re their only one, even though they’re always busy. Throughout the repair process, the team kept me updated and went above and beyond by identifying and fixing electrical and performance issues that weren’t obvious at first glance. Their dedication to fully diagnosing and thoroughly testing the repairs, truly pays off and compliments their commitment to ensuring top quality service. My car is now running better than ever, and I’ll definitely keep them as my go-to for any future repairs!
