Complete and utter disappointment.
I booked a bmw 2 series or similar car . 4 days ahead of time . Charged me full amount on the site . But when I showed up . Gave me a vw tiguan basic . With brakes that shake like hell at 70km/hr.
Then they switched it to a basic ford escape. Even tho I emphasized that I dont like amarican cars . The reason I booked with them initially because they said they have German cars . Also when they gave me ford escape. The guy said thats the last car they have . But they had 5 bmw sedans that the employees were taking them to the same parking spot one after another . I wasted 9 hrs of my day over that and at the end of the day . Al they said is they will give me half of fuel tank off when I bring the car back . Complete disappointment.

Absolutely not recommended. The employee was clearly focused only on upselling and not on customer service at all. He first tried to convince us that the cheaper cars didn’t have navigation or proper features, only to push us into a more expensive option. When we refused, the price for the “better” car suddenly dropped from 90 CAD to 50 CAD, and after we still said no, he suddenly offered it for free. That alone says enough.
He also kept trying to sell us unnecessary insurance and extras even though we already had our own coverage.
To make things worse, their card machine supposedly couldn’t accept our credit card for the deposit, even though we had used the exact same card successfully just 10 minutes earlier at our hotel and had more than enough available credit. We tried multiple times, but it still didn’t work. In the end, we couldn’t rent the car and had to find another rental company at a much higher price — where our card worked immediately without any issues.
The worst part: Sixt promised by email that the charged money would be refunded, but later refused to refund it. Extremely disappointing experience and a complete waste of time. I would strongly advise people to avoid this location and not let themselves get pressured into unnecessary upgrades or extras.

Tres decu du service sixt. J’ai reserve un vehicule sur internet en precisant mon age (24 ans). Je me rends a l’agence, a 17h, l’agent d’accueil me dit n’avoir aucun vehicule de disponible, enfin si un, mais que je ne peux pas conduire vu que j’ai 24 ans (l’age était préciser sur son ordinateur), je dois donc me trouver une solution chez un autre loueur, a une heure où tout les loueurs ferme leur porte. Je suis tres déçue . L’agent d’accueil viendra me préciser qu’ils sont une agence premium, pour un service premium je suis tres déçue, une vérification en amont et un contact vers le client afin de prevenir et trouver une solution avant la fermeture d’autre agence aurais etait une solution. Mais vous comprenez, le monsieur avait une centaine de dossier…

One of the best car rental experiences I've had in Vancouver. It was my birthday, and the guy casually asked if I wanted a BMW 3 series. You can say it was an upsell or charging extra, but honestly, it made my day and was worth every penny. I forgot the name of the guy who helped me, but everyone there is super welcoming. I'm definitely sticking with you guys. If you can tell the staff, ask them about the burgers – they'll know who I am. You'll are welcome for the best burgers in town.

Company was recommended from my neighbour. I booked a BMW 3 series over one month in advance from the Vancouver downtown location. Showed up to get my car and they had 5 vehicles - no premium cars. The only vehicle with a navigation screen was an oversized 7 seater Ford Explorer which I had to take. They charged me a +$20/day upgrade for 5 days. I complained later that day via email to their customer service survey. Magically, the next day they said they had a BMW for me but I had to wait until later in the afternoon to give them a chance to clean it. When I picked it up, they said I would be credited back to upgrade charge from "their boss" and receive an email later that day. The car itself was nice and new but quite dirty on the exterior and the windows were actually dirty on the inside. I contacted SIXT several times that week via email and chat but never got a concrete answer on how much I would be credited back. It should have been $20 x 4 days, since I only had the Explorer for one day. When I dropped the car off at the airport SIXT location, the agent said the original rental agent would call me about the credit shortly. I never heard anything back until I got back from from the trip. They emailed me saying I would get a $56 credit which was less than the $80 plus tax I was overcharged. The credit showed up on my card a day after the full charge for the upgrade. Bottom line: 1. customer service is terrible. Too many levels, hard to reach. Spent way too much time trying to deal with them. 2. you probably won't get the car you book. Whole idea here is to get a premium car not some substitute brand.
