  So, not too long ago I bought a pre-owned vehicle. Everything was great until it came time to do an oil change. Draining the oil was easy, but when it came to removing the oil filter, that's when my nightmare began. This filter was torqued on with the force of a hundred suns. Never in my tent years of doing oil changes, have I ever experienced anything like this. I tried the belt technique, the tape technique, and even the screwdriver technique, but nothing budges even a millimeter. I tried using a flat pry against the screwdriver for extra leverage, and it bent the freaking flat pry. I tried using a 5lb monkey wrench, and it just tore through the metal. After close examination, it looks like the filter was somehow cross threaded (and they probably didn't oil the lip either). The impressive part is they still somehow got the filter all the way seated, even without it aligning properly on the threading. I gave 2 stars, because whoever worked on this must be stronger than an ox, and I am dang impressed. This guy must be walking around the shop, tearing phone books in half for fun. This goes to show that you should never trust big name oil change places. Just learn to do it yourself, or fork up the extra to have a real mechanic do it.

  Be careful and don’t blindly agree to their suggestions. They upsold me an engine flush and a stabilizer for a car, and after further research these things don’t actually give any benefit at all. The engine flush can actually introduce new risks if you get your oil change regularly. Make sure to do your own research for your car and don’t blindly accept these upsells. I wasted 80 because I didn’t quickly google search it.

  This place was great! Oil change, tire pressure corrected, fluids checked and lights front and back…and offered me a coffee or water! All while my wife and I sat in our vehicle. Oh, almost forgot a free car wash!!
