- NGneldon gardnerJun 22, 20265.0While traveling home to Alaska in our recently purchased 2023 Thor Delano motorhome, the front protective window cover unexpectedly blew completely off approximately 30 miles south of Prince George on the ALCAN Highway. Exposed to the elements and far from home, we limped into FFR Glass Service Ltd hoping for help. The team immediately found space in their shop, brought the RV inside, and within two hours had created a secure temporary repair using plastic sheeting, cardboard, Gorilla Tape, and a great deal of ingenuity. Several technicians remarked that they were amazed the cover had come off and felt it may have been improperly installed. What impressed us most was their kindness. After completing the repair, they refused to charge us, simply saying, "We think you've had enough bad luck. We were happy to help." Their professionalism, generosity, and compassion turned a very stressful situation into a manageable one. We made it safely home to Alaska because of their help. We will never forget it. Stories like this remind us that some of the best parts of a long road trip are the people you meet when things don't go according to plan.
