  I had a difficult start to my rental experience at this location. The first car they gave me was missing a significant chunk out of the front passenger side tire - lucking we noticed before accepting the car. The second car was almost brand new and after accepting it and driving a short distance, I discovered one the back seatbelts was defective and so I couldn’t put my family in the car. It was very obvious, shredded /torn seat belt. It was 5:45pm and they closed at 6pm so I couldn’t make it back to exchange that night. I called and the gentleman made a note I would be returning first thing in the morning for a new car. The next morning I arrive to get a new car and there was no note left of my file. Thankfully the representative accepts I am being truthful about the seatbelt being an existing issue and not something I caused. My third car ends up being fine except it was wet inside. While inspecting the car with the representative I notice the front passenger seat has multiple dark water stains - I touch it and it’s wet. I tell him “this seat is wet” and he touches it and says “no that’s not wet”. (The window must have been left down overnight). I accept the wet car and it eventually dries out after soaking my passenger’s pants. I had no issues for the rest of the rental. If you rent here be very careful inspecting your vehicle inside and out, tires included, to make sure your car is roadworthy & safe for your travels.

  I made a reservation online saying for a day it’s only 69 dollars, but there are so many hidden fees that we needed to pay. Should have written clearly online so we don’t get a big surprise. The staff was actually very nice and patient, but took a long time to do the paper work. What’s more, he accidentally charged us 70 more dollars. The location was not that accessible either, we arrived at departure bay, have to take a bus and walk couple minutes to get to the store. Although they have shuttle service, once again didn’t know that until we get to the store, and the shuttle bus service time was not long enough for a day.

  Best rate by far in Nanaimo! Picked me up from the ferry and dropped me off after I returned my car. Explained every aspect of my rental agreement to me in plain English. While I was about to arrive back at the ferry for my Return trip home someone from their office called my driver and told me I had forgotten my phone before I even realized I had! A second employee jumped in a car and returned my phone to me and I still did not miss my ferry. Exceptional service all around!

  They deserve 0 stars but 1 is the minimum here. We arrived at Nanaimo ferry terminal at 4:00pm. the internal communication is clearly terrible and they don't have an official pick-up sign, simply telling you to wait at the yellow sign when there are 2 other identical yellow signs. We called them to let them know we are here at 4:00pm and in the end we got picked up at 4:30pm. How is that possible, they are only a 7-8min drive away. Apparently one guy drove by and missed us, why didn't they just call us if they had arrived, we were probably at the wrong sign, that's what happens when you don't have an official pick-up sign like Budget. They are unprofessional and inconsiderate. Considering the time that they had wasted, they refused offering a small discount when asked. Instead, the worker there blamed us for not being present at the correct waiting area, when in fact, we were there, at the exact same spot where we got picked up, from 4:00-4:30pm. It wasn't possible to have missed us. Moreover, the worker further emphasised that this is a free shuttle, implying that our concern was invalid just because it is free. It is called loss leader marketing, it's part of the strategy to get people to use the service, so why are you blaming the customer for the unprofessional execution. It's quite clear that we are not coming back, and I would advise you to avoid this place if you want a pleasant experience.
