  Would prefer to pay more in advance and not have a distance limit. This spoilt my trip as I was unable to visit Victoria as it was too far! Also wanted to use a different card for payment but couldn't which means I get high exchange rate charges. This has not happened in other jurisdictions!

  Thank you Nanaimo Airport National for going above and beyond to help us. Special thanks to James! Our WestJet flight was canceled, and the flight we were put on was delayed. Thus we arrived at 1am. We called James at National for advice. He said he'd be there and wait for us. We got to the counter at 1:05AM. James was there, and so was our car. Great car. (WestJet lost our bag) It was awesome to have someone willing to help as we thought we'd be stranded or have a very long and expensive taxi ride. Thank you James. We really appreciate it and told a lot of people about how incredible your help was to us.

  I would not recommend this service provider. I picked up the rental vehicle at approximately 12:30 a.m. Due to the darkness at that time, a small scratch on the vehicle was not visible during the initial inspection. When I returned the vehicle, the representative pointed out the scratch and insisted that I had caused it. He stated that he would need to review the previous five inspection reports and that I would be charged if the damage was not documented. I requested that the matter be investigated immediately, as I needed to submit the rental invoice to my company. The representative's attitude was unprofessional and dismissive. He repeatedly stated that he was busy and needed to wash the car. Despite this, I waited at the airport and later approached the counter when I saw him available. At that point, he informed me that he had completed the investigation and confirmed that the scratch was not caused by me. What I do not understand is why the scratch was not already documented if it was pre-existing. This situation caused unnecessary stress, wasted my time, and could have easily been avoided through proper vehicle inspection and record-keeping. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The company should improve its damage reporting process and provide additional customer service training to representatives who interact with customers. No customer should have to go through this kind of unnecessary inconvenience for damage that already existed on the vehicle.
