When I first began shopping around for a car, I was sure I wanted a Kia Seltos. I shopped around and even test drove at the Kia dealership, but ultimately couldn't come to an agreement on the OTD price. The Kia salesperson then said that they didn't have anything in their inventory for me. No biggie, someone else will want my money lol. So I kept shopping around and saw that there was a similar style suv at Mazda within my budget.
I went in around 2pm on a Sunday and drove away by 6pm in a CX-30 Carbon Edition, complete with moonroof (I had my heart set on having a moonroof lol). Although the car looked very nice, I had no intention of even test driving this car, thought it was way out of my price range, and it wasn't even on the list of cars I'd researched/considered. But the car itself looked very stylish, I figured, why not, I'm already here, I'll see what this car is all about...
Carlos made the whole experience very reassuring and was very patient. He was very knowledgeable, approached my concerns with ease and transparancy, and gave me the space to make my own decisions without adding pressure. Carlos had tons of facts about the safety ratings, engine performance and durability, and was accomodating every step of the way. I did step out to research and verify what he was saying about the car, was pleasantly surprised to see all the positive reviews, and after that first test drive, I was in love.
I was honest about what I could put down, what I had to trade in, my income, and the max I could afford on a monthly payment and insurance. I was also stubborn and said that the CX-30 wasn't my first choice, and that I was kinda set on the Kia Seltos. Firas, the manager, who had introduced himself before the test drive, jumped back in and looked through their available inventory for a Seltos. They had one, but I kept thinking back to the CX-30 with a moonroof and how smooth and luxurious that test drive felt. Firas made the point that Mazda cars are more reliable than Kias and I thought back to how many manufacturer recall notices I had received in those first 2 years after I got a Kia. I was looking to buy a car because my Kia needed a new engine and it hadn't even hit 150k miles yet. Although as the manager at Mazda, Firas would definitely be biased and sales people usually tell you whatever to make a sale, there was an element of truth to his statement, and felt genuine concern when he said he'd hate for me to be stuck in the same situation with a Kia in another few years.
Despite all this, I was still hesitant. Afterall, it is a HUGE purchase. Firas sensed my hesitation, but went above and beyond and worked some numbers out to ensure that I would be driving away with a Mazda that day.
I didn't come in with a huge down payment, I have decent credit but not great, and I had certain non-negotiables on the table, but despite all this, Carlos & Firas did everything they could to ensure I drove away with an amazing car and an affordable payment. Carlos called me a few days after the purchase to follow up and ensure everything was well. I would HIGHLY recommend coming in.
