My wife, our four dogs, and I were in the middle of traveling from New Mexico all the way up to Alaska with a trailer on a hitch that we installed ourselves when we hit some trouble with the hitch right down the road from Fountain Tire. Two of the 4 bolts that held the hitch to our vehicle dropped out. We were scared and didn't know where to go or who could help. We went to Fountain Tire as a shot in the dark, but after looking at it for a while Brooks and John were able to fasten the hitch back right. They told me that the tools they needed for the job were not what they usually have on hand but they were able to find them in a coworker Justin's tool box. The whole time they worked on it, Megan at the front desk was keeping us filled in on the work being done and was very comforting and friendly. The hitch was able to hold through rough Yukon roads and got us all the way to our destination safe and sound! I cannot thank these people enough and I will recommend them every time!!

These guys got me out of a pinch. I was driving to Alaska from the lower 48, towing a U-Haul trailer with my FWD VW Atlas. I didn’t have winter tires and started struggling with the mountains. I even got stuck in their parking lot and they had to pull me out. They helped me unhook the trailer to get winter tires, and also let me sit inside their heated bay for an additional hour because my windshield washer fluid was frozen solid. Solid people!

Frequently Asked Questions About Fountain Tire

When should I replace my tires?

Tires wear out over time, and how long they last depends on things like road conditions, driving habits, inflation, and temperature. The best way to know when to replace them is to check them regularly. Common ways to measure tread include the following. - Tread wear bars: When these are flush with the tread, it’s time to replace. - Coin test: If too much of the coin shows, your tread is low. - Tread depth gauge: The most accurate way to measure. If your tread is low or you see cracks, bulges, or notice vibration, come see us.

What are some signs my vehicle is out of alignment?

It doesn’t take much to throw your alignment off—potholes, curbs, or just everyday driving. Poor alignment can lead to faster tire wear and poor handling. Common signs include: - Vehicle pulls to one side - Crooked steering wheel - Uneven tire wear - Loose or unstable steering - Vibration in the steering wheel If something feels off, we’re happy to take a look.
