THANK YOU - JESS and DALTON! I came here today for some help with my transmission fluid. After going to two different dealerships who said they were unable to find the dip stick for my transmission fluid including Nissan which I have a Nissan Titan I came here and Jess and Dalton were awesome, they looked it up and found the dipstick and checked my fluid levels and even topped it off for me as it was low. I was so impressed thank you to both of you I will be coming here for all my oil changes from now on.

Very Disappointing Experience – Damage to My Vehicle During Oil Change I visited Great Canadian Oil Change at around 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 22, 2026, for an oil and oil filter change. After the staff drained all the old oil from my vehicle, they began replacing the oil filter. About 20 minutes later, they told me that my oil filter housing had been damaged and that neither the new nor the old filter could be installed anymore. They also could not refill the engine with new oil. Their staff told me they were unable to repair it and advised me to arrange a tow truck to take my vehicle to a professional repair shop. I had to pay $220 for a tow. After my vehicle was inspected by a professional mechanic, I was told that the oil filter housing had been damaged during the filter replacement because it had been tightened/handled with excessive force. The mechanic advised that the entire engine mount and oil filter housing need to be replaced. The required parts will take approximately one week to arrive, and the repair cost is expected to be over $1,500. I will also have to rent a vehicle for approximately one week. Before I brought my vehicle to Great Canadian Oil Change, it was operating normally and had no issues with the oil filter housing. The damage occurred while their staff were performing the oil filter replacement. In my opinion, this indicates a serious lack of professionalism and has caused me significant financial loss and inconvenience. I hope Great Canadian Oil Change will take responsibility for what happened and have a sincere discussion with me regarding compensation for the towing cost, repair expenses, rental vehicle costs, and other losses resulting from this incident. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering using this service carefully consider my experience.

Jess and crew are amazing! I'm exclusively a Great Canadian oil change customer for over 10 years, because of consistently stellar service. Thank you for almost laughing at my somewhat hilarious 'dad joke'. :)

I will start by saying every previous oil change I've had at this location has gone as expected. Not great but certainly not bad. That being said my experience today was not good at all. I brought my girlfriends work van in for it's normal bi monthly oil change. (she drives 600km per day with it). The first interaction with the woman manager was, she was telling me the 4 different types of oil change they offer. I stopped her and politely said I just needed the standard oil change. To which she stopped me and told me she had to tell me what the options were, I let her continue, then told her I only wanted the standard package. When I gave her the mileage she again tried to upsell me on high mileage oil.... (I get it. It's their job to upsell) to which I tried to tell her that the oil gets changed twice a month and we had no need for high mileage oil. She continued trying to tell me I should use the high mileage oil and or at the very least go to canadian tire for a high mileage oil additive. I declined yet again. Then they tried to check the air filter, i always decline that check as 1 i do it myself and 2 twice in the past while trying to get it open the techs have damaged the van. So I always tell them not to worry about it. She proceeded to tell me that it was only clips and didn't see how what i was saying was possible. Skip to the end of the oil change, the van has been in 3 deer on vehicle accidents and parts are not available so it's driven as it is. As such the hood does not close properly (I have to slam it in just the right way or it comes open) I 100% of the time have to close it myself) and previous to this interaction I let the tech know, and I get out and close it myself. She was in the office doing whatever and when she heard me let the tech know and get out of the vehicle to do it. She came out and told me that they could not let me do that. Again I explained what the issue was and she told me that the shop was liable if I hurt myself. I get that. But in this case it's not going to close with someone else trying. So I told them to leave it alone and I'd take care of it outside. They tried 3 times to close it to which I kept telling them to stop as I did not want it to get more damaged by trying to close it improperly. She just kept talking over me. I have been in customer service for more than 30 years including management for the last 20+ years. This is not good customer service. It seems like her ego or whatever took her priority today. Not only was she completely dissmissive about my requests she basically called me a liar by saying that the things I was bringing up to them had never happened while she was there and that she was around when I had come in before. I will not go back to this location ever again. That's the thing about oil change places there are lots of options and I will exercise them.
