- 55572camaroguyOct 8, 20265.0What a refreshing visit. Everyone was smiling and helpful. My Dad needed his drivers License renewed and we were expecting to be tied up for an hour or more. He was ready to roll in less than a half hour. It definitely pays to have all of your documents in order before hand. Thank you for the Fantastic service.

A certified car seat technician spent almost an hour checking my kid car seat, making sure it's in the right position, no recalls, properly secured. It was a free event for AMA members! The ladies were super helpful, nice and patient and answered all my questions!
- GSGregg SOct 3, 20261.0Wait times on a Saturday are crazy. Clearly not enough staff to handle the volume. AMA can also do a much better job of preparing people when they come in for a drivers license test, and also what is required (ID/ documents etc) to get the actual drivers license. (Who would think that your learners permit isn’t enough ID to get a drivers license??) Most importantly though have enough staff to handle the volume. Our time at AMA today was over 3 hours, and much of that was completely unnecessary. I’ll go somewhere else next time.

Can AMA help me with changing my Alberta Health Care Card?

Will you have another AMA shredding event soon?
This year's shredding events have concluded, but Shredding dates for 2024 will be listed on our website as of March 6. For more information, visit ama.ab.ca/events/shredding.
Can I renew my passport here, or can I only get a picture for it?
We offer passport photo services at all of our centres across Alberta. To learn more about this, visit ama.ab.ca/personal/passport-photo. On that page on our website, you'll also find resources on how to apply for your Canadian Passport. You can get those application forms from your nearby postal outlet or passport office. My driver's licence is due soon. Do I have to book and appointment to renew?
You do not have to book an appointment to renew your driver's licence. Just stop by one of our centres and someone from our registries team will assist you with the renewal.
Do you offer an international driver's licence here?
We sure do. The test costs $17.60, plus the cost of getting your Driver's License after you pass. Visit our website and search for 'Drivers Licence Testing' to find all the information, including what to bring with you. Good luck!
Is there a way to get a in-transit sticker for a vehicle to move?

Can I use the registry services if I am not a member?
At AMA, our registry services are member exclusive. However, you can visit our registry with someone who has an active AMA membership to use our services. Being a member does offer plenty of value.
