Today I visited AMA to apply for my International Driving Permit, and I’m so excited because this will be my first time driving outside my home country during my vacation! The employee, OHIYLA, made the experience even more memorable. She was smiling, cheerful, and welcoming the entire time. I’m sure she had a long day since there were only about 30 minutes left before AMA closed, but she never let that affect her positive attitude. She patiently answered all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and even shared helpful advice about the permit being valid for one year. I truly appreciated how kind and professional she was. I’ll definitely return to see her whenever I need assistance in the future. Can AMA help me with changing my Alberta Health Care Card?

Will you have another AMA shredding event soon?

Can I renew my passport here, or can I only get a picture for it?
We offer passport photo services at all of our centres across Alberta. To learn more about this, visit ama.ab.ca/personal/passport-photo. On that page on our website, you'll also find resources on how to apply for your Canadian Passport. You can get those application forms from your nearby postal outlet or passport office. My driver's licence is due soon. Do I have to book and appointment to renew?
You do not have to book an appointment to renew your driver's licence. Just stop by one of our centres and someone from our registries team will assist you with the renewal.
Do you offer an international driver's licence here?
We sure do. The test costs $17.60, plus the cost of getting your Driver's License after you pass. Visit our website and search for 'Drivers Licence Testing' to find all the information, including what to bring with you. Good luck!
Is there a way to get a in-transit sticker for a vehicle to move?

Can I use the registry services if I am not a member?
At AMA, our registry services are member exclusive. However, you can visit our registry with someone who has an active AMA membership to use our services. Being a member does offer plenty of value.
