  Never ever go with AMA for auto insurance. 3 times in the last 2 years, they have taken my payment out of my bank with auto deposit and then returned it 3 days later. I call them, they say everything is fine on their end and payment is confirmed. I tell them "no, the money was returned to my account" and they then say "on our end, everything looks good". Then a few days later I get registered mail, saying my policy has been canceled for non-payment. I call again wait another 3 hours on hold to ask "why" they respond "we have no answers, ask your bank. And if you want to continue with AMA you will now have to pay a full year upfront". I go to my bank and ask what happened. They said there was a glitch on their end, provided me with a letter stating it was the banks fault. Still, AMA refuses the letter and marks me as missed payment ( even though I called the next day to pay it & being gaslit) so basically blackballing me with every other insurance company, who all say I now have to pay a full year, due to AMA's missed payment, that my bank clearly stated was their systems fault. I'm on permanent disability and don't have $3k to drop on a years insurance up front. So now I'm completely ruined. Wife can't get to work and I can't get to my Drs or physiotherapy. We live out of town. AMA has made our life hell!!! Their customer service is horrible, expect to wait on hold for hours just to talk to someone (unless you say you're making a payment, then they have an agent ready to go in minutes) A company that will do this to a person on disability, even having a letter and proof from the bank it was their fault. Is not a company anyone should consider supporting. At least not with auto insurance. Edit: WOW! It sure is super nice of AMA to reply to this review so quickly. Even going out of their way to contact the right people and check the status of my issue, all while still not emailing me the simple basic letter I have been requesting for over 2 days. They know I need this letter so I can get insurance somewhere else and so my wife can drive to work. Priorities I guess.... Again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Second Edit: it's been 4 days now. Called in again today and was told the letter was misplaced in the "pipeline" and will be sent to me ASAP. Basically same thing they told me yesterday, the day before & the day before that. Wife had to also take another day off work due to AMA not emailing this letter they know we desperately need. With my wife missing 3 days of work due to them not sending this letter, we're going to be very tight on bills, when everything is so unaffordable. My wife is an LPN in homecare, which is already understaffed, so this is now not only affecting us, it's affecting her patients and their health as well. Absolutely insane, especially over an issue the bank has taken responsibility for and it should have never gone this far. Please send me my letter!!!!

  Got into a roadside accident. AMA came within 10 minutes. Jeff(Driver #34) did an amazing job. He was quick, efficient and very friendly. His bright attitude helped lift my mood up during all of it. Was an absolute pleasure having him assist me Had to tow again. Viktor and John were fantastic. Very skilled and knowledgeable about towing. Was able to tow into a tight area and keep me at ease!

  I cannot say enough positive things about being an AMA member, whether this be their vehicle registries, international drivers licence service, vacation planning and towing service, which I used today. I booked this using their app and it showed me the location of the tow truck that was picking up our vehicle. I was impressed with Carl, the operator who took care in loading the vehicle onto the truck to an AMA approved shop (Auto Tech West).
