Pete and Sophia I had similar issue like you dealing with Maria. It was literally waste of my 1 hour with her and won’t feel like going back to her again. We ended up canceling our policy.

Big thanks to Maria Mendoza for accommodating all of our inquiries regarding car and home insurance. It was our first time dealing with AMA, and compared to our previous insurance, AMA gave us a much better offer. Maria explained everything clearly and made sure we understood all the details, which we really appreciated because we didn’t experience that level of explanation from our previous insurance agent. She answered all of our questions patiently and provided us with many options to help us find the most affordable coverage. Even though we had a lot of questions, she remained professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!

I had a very frustrating experience during an insurance-related visit. I previously owned multiple vehicles under my insurance policy and had recently sold one, so I was simply looking to update my policy by adding another vehicle.
Instead of focusing on the insurance request, I was asked a series of personal questions that were not relevant to the transaction, such as details about my personal life, employment, and why I owned multiple vehicles. I found this unnecessary and uncomfortable, as it did not relate to the service I was requesting.
Overall, I felt the interaction was not handled professionally, and my original request to update my insurance was not addressed efficiently.

I've had to use a few tows and the drivers are always such helpful people. I usually have the same experience when using other AMA services, such as registry. And the auto renewal of your registration is very very useful.

I had a very disappointing experience with AMA Insurance in Alberta.
I was involved in a very minor parking lot incident where my vehicle lightly touched another car at an extremely low speed (around 2 km/h). There was absolutely no visible damage to either vehicle. I even had video evidence clearly showing the minimal impact and confirming that no damage was caused.
However, the other vehicle already had pre-existing damage on the front bumper in a completely different area, and the owner insisted on filing a claim. It felt very obvious that they were trying to use this situation to have their existing damage repaired through my insurance.
What’s most frustrating is how AMA handled this situation. Despite providing clear photo and video evidence, my insurance representatives did not properly review or investigate the case. I didn’t even receive confirmation that my evidence was received. There was no meaningful communication, no transparency, and no effort to defend their own client.
Instead, AMA simply accepted and paid the claim from the other party without question.
This raises serious concerns about whose interests they are actually protecting. As a paying customer, I expected my insurance company to at least review the evidence and advocate on my behalf. Instead, it felt like they took the easiest route possible, regardless of fairness or facts.
It honestly feels like AMA is more interested in collecting premiums than supporting their clients when it actually matters.
I have completely lost trust in this company and will not be using their services again.
