The examiner - an older man, I think his name was Darcy - who I had last fall, is a grouch that seemingly deliberately tries to put you on edge and tries to trick you, despite explicitly claiming he won't, and marks you unfairly despite claiming he won't do that. He will give you automatic fails on things that were not your fault, even if he admits that other drivers were responsible. He will nitpick and be a pedant about things that aren't relevant to points docked in a road test when reviewing your driving, and (probably) claim you should do courses with a professional driver, even if you have done plenty already. Despite being so pedantic, the examiners seem to not know the laws or what they're even testing on: E.g. If a driver fails to yield to you or share right of way and you don't take the right of way because you're cautious about getting into an accident, you'll still be autofailed due to that! It's a horrible place to even attempt if you want to feel confident about your driving, as the examiners' job seem to be to destroy the confidence of a budding driver rather than be helpful. It's borderline sadism instead of professionalism. AMA sent me an email afterwards of the road test results and they were unopenable, so I couldn't even review my assessment or find the examiner's number. Seriously avoid this place for a road test, even if you're an AMA member they'll treat you poorly. The only thing decent about the place is it's quite clean and comfortable inside, I suppose they get an extra star for that (i'd give 1.5 if I could). Likely one of the worst places in the city for a road test due to the uncharitable examiners and route they put you through. There are far better and much more fair examiners out there instead of at AMA, the latter of which just want your money and go out of their way as much as possible to try to fail you instead of taking into account real world conditions.

Came here for a simple letter of experience and found myself in the middle of an investigation sting. They were searching for a whole lot of absolutely nothing while making me wait for absolutely nothing. All for a 25 year AMA policy holder whom they want to cause grief for not to mention she's a 70+year old person. After this experience here, their word means absolutely nothing. You know who i am Jayne. Go find insurance through other means.

We’ve been here seating for more than 2 hrs waiting to talk with an advisor and counting. We came during the week with my husband to get a quote for insurance but it was packed!! Came today Saturday and even though the amount of people is less, there are only 2 advisors for insurance. Beautiful office but the long wait time is not worthy it at all. Edit 1: Now there's only ONE advisor for Insurance!! Great.
