  Always had no issues at the old location but the wait times here at Westbrook are unacceptable. Waited 2 hours a few months ago to see a registry agent. This week my wife and I waited over an hour. The response from AMA when complaints are aired about wait times is to make an appointment. Went on their website yesterday and NO appointments were available for the remainder of the month for registry services. Went to Richmond Road Registry this morning to sort out some items for my late mother’s estate. Took 15 mins to see an agent and I was out 10 minutes later. Bring a book and be prepared to wait.

  I would not recommend this AMA location, and I would strongly advise against booking a road test with Raj based on my sister’s experience. The confusion started at the registration desk. The staff member initially put the test under my name because the car registration was in my name, before realizing that the licence and booking were my sister’s. She was simply borrowing my car. My biggest concern, though, is Raj’s handling of the test. My sister described unclear directions, including being told to turn left where the road already curved naturally left. According to her, he said, “I don’t believe in the 3 second rule at a stop sign,” and told her to “keep rolling” instead of fully stopping if a four-way stop was empty. She says he also stated, “I don’t really know what the books say.” That is not the kind of feedback I expect from someone responsible for assessing drivers. He criticized her for slowing down at a speed bump and waiting for a pedestrian he considered too far away. That pedestrian took only two steps before being directly in front of her bumper. He also told her, “Your driving skills are good for winter but not for today's weather.”, and he proceeded to point at the sun. That comment does nothing to explain what she supposedly did wrong. The most serious issue is the difference between what he told her and what appeared on the report. My sister says Raj told her she waited too long to turn left on green and cleared the intersection on yellow. Yet the report recorded red under technical failures. That discrepancy matters, especially when it is being used to justify a failed test, and it needs an explanation. I expect a road test examiner to give clear directions, explain their assessment and accurately document what happened. Based on my sister’s account, I have no confidence in Raj’s assessment and would not book with him. AMA needs to review this experience and explain the discrepancy in her results. I would choose another location.

  After waiting for hours, I get to the counter and the lady says because I want to get Alberta Healthcard for a family of 5, she will not be able to attend to me as she wants to go home on time. Wao! Who does that? I had waited for over 4 hours to get to my turn. The manager had also assured us that we will be attended to regardless. She also said I couldn’t get my healthcard number on my driving licence as I was a permanent resident and not a citizen. I think she just wanted to get rid of me. It was a very disappointing service .

  AMA Westbrook Waited 25 min on the wait list on the screen, when it was my turn they bring me to the front desk to schedule me for a vehicle insurance appointment when I thought I was next in line to see a representative. But the lady said sorry I didn’t see you, so what’s the point of self check in and if I’d been there 25min you would think they would’ve stopped the automatic registers on their booths. They obviously did not value my time nor my urgency as I purchased a new vehicle and needed a binder later today. She wanted to book me for next week.

  Had the unfortunate experience of a flat tire on the overpass of a highway - cars whizzing by and super dangerous. Neal was the first technician on scene and was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and safety conscious. Mark then arrived shortly afterwards, setting up a safe perimeter for Neal to perform my tire change. I can’t say enough about the excellent experience I had with these two fine AMA roadside technicians.
