I regularily have a documents notarized at AMA ... but not today, 1 hour waiting time at 11:20. I understand registry services have the same wait time.
A wait of 1 hour, to a business person, is unacceptable. Drop in counter service is not viable like this. AMA need consider scheduling service for clients.

Had a very pleasant experience with Raj helping us swap out out-of-province licenses.
Our whole family came which made the process long but Raj was very professional and patient with us.

I was told my car may have some major issues. AMA tow truck driver Mark asked me if he could have a look. Alternator was good but the battery wasn't recharging. Mark then contacted the AMA battery group and they replaced them battery for me which saved my lots of money. Now this is service!

Accused & Banned from AMA for false accusations.
You should NOT have your employee profiles have personal info on your website if you don't want us to try to relate to them.
I needed to get an insurance quote so I went online to book an appointment and saw that they had all their brokers listed there with pictures, including a write-up bio for each of them.
I read a few of them and it was one gal that figured we had a couple of things in common such as both having a respect for spicy foods & her husband works on high-performance vehicles.
All I said in my reach out via email was that I also enjoy spicy food and then my wife drives a high-performance vehicle and may be there potential that he could help if we ever needed it and so I chose her and booked the appointment.
There ended up being a bit of a mix-up in the schedule, which wasn't a big deal so when I called in, I was told by the front desk gal that I could come in early and could potentially catch her before her booked appointments and so I said I'd be there the next day.
When I showed up the front desk gal advised me that she had booked appointments already, and so I questioned her as per her instructions the previous day. Granted it was my fault as I did miss a voicemail from her explaining this, but again not a big deal.
She asked if I would like to see somebody else instead and I said
'no I'm fine, I can just keep my original appointment." as I wasn't in a mad rush for it.
As I was leaving, she asked me again if I would like to see somebody else and again I replied "no I can just keep my original appointment and is there a problem with that?" She replied with "no" I said "OK thank you and goodbye."
FFWD to the DAY BEFORE my scheduled appointment and I get an email from Dawn Therres, Director, Provincial Sales & Service at the AMA Insurance Agency, telling me that I am not welcome back to AMA and that there were signs of ill intentions towards their staff, and in her exact words she says, "If you attend the AMA Shawnessy Centre, AMA Insurance staff will not speak to you. You will immediately be declared in trespass and asked to leave."
I was absolutely dumbfounded and just confused regarding the statement, no sorry, accusation, as there was never any action or words to back this verbal assault.
I repeatedly asked for proof of their claims, but they couldn’t provide it. I expressed my frustration and wanted to escalate the issue, so I was forwarded to their legal department.
Angus K. Ng | Barrister and Solicitor
Alberta Motor Association and AMA Insurance Agency
Angus didn’t even bother listening to my side of the story. He simply reiterated that the situation had already been discussed, and this was the final decision. I expressed my disbelief and sincere disappointment, asking if he wouldn’t help me find someone else to talk to. He replied that I could contact the complaint handling team, but he’d just get forwarded back to him anyway. Essentially, he told me this was the endgame and that there was nothing more he could do.
So I do a little more digging and find out there's an AMA Ombudsman who I reached out to next and they opened up an investigation.
Even after much back-and-forth there, it ultimately didn't go anywhere and all they said was neither party was at fault and the whole thing would be dropped.
Not exactly the outcome I was looking for considering these insane accusations and defamation of character. I've been a supporter of AMA for decades with never any incident. I own my own business, I have impeccable five-star reviews I'm going into customers’ homes and have a family.
I even told Dawn and Angus to look me up, but clearly they had no interest in really getting to know me.
I see that the nameless owner of this AMA replies back, so I do look forward to your response, and hopefully you can have a stern conversation with Dan and Angus, who can contact me with an apology and hopefully with some compensation for supporting you guys for decades and still am, for that matter.
