What a joke AMA and CAA customer service has become. First, I had to wait almost an hour to speak with a customer service representative. She told me to visit any AMA office and that an agent there would help me. However, when I reached the office, I was told that they do not accept walk-ins. Do your customer service agents receive different training? The representative then booked an appointment without even asking what date and time worked for me. When I asked what would happen if I didn't show up, she said there would be no charge. That is common sense—I am trying to buy a new policy and you don't even have my payment details, so how would you charge me? I requested an appointment that suited my availability, but I was told that wasn't possible. I asked whether customer service could change the appointment later, and I was told they couldn't because they don't have access to appointment availability. What kind of customer service system is this, where the customer service team cannot access appointment schedules? I was also repeatedly told to download the app. I downloaded it, obtained a quote, and then the app informed me that I could not purchase the policy online and needed to call customer service again. To make matters worse, the first question on the phone system is, "Are you a member?" Maybe focus on providing good service first, and customers will gladly become members. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication, inconsistent information, and an unnecessarily frustrating process for someone who is simply trying to purchase a new insurance policy. I expected much better from AMA and CAA.
