  told me my reservation had been canceled but could get me a car at 3x the cost. next they said they accidently gave my car to someone else. terrible horrible and the local number they don't answer the phone.

  Overall, a terrible experience. We rented a car through Booking.com, and on the day of the rental, I specifically confirmed with Alamo staff that we needed to return the car at night because we had a flight early the next morning. We were assured that this would be fine. However, when we arrived that evening, despite the parking area not being full, two cars had been deliberately parked in front of the entrance, preventing us from entering or returning the vehicle. There were also no instructions whatsoever explaining what customers should do when returning a car outside business hours. Alamo does not provide 24/7 service, which caused us significant stress and inconvenience, particularly because we had a flight to catch the following morning. To make matters worse, three weeks later, we were charged CAD 75 on our credit card for what Alamo claimed was a traffic citation, but they provided no documentation or proof of the alleged citation. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication, inadequate after-hours arrangements, and an unexplained charge made this rental far more stressful than it should have been.

  Prachtige bijna nieuwe auto meegekregen, 3500 km mee getoerd door West-Canada. Goede uitleg en vriendelijk personeel zowel bij ophalen als bij terugbrengen.

  5-star service here! Kudos to the team members at Alamo (YYC) for going above and beyond to meeting customers with bookings past operational hours. They are so helpful, friendly, and committed to service. Significant delay caused us to miss the closing time of the rental counter and the team waited up for us, 2 hours past closing! When we showed up, not a gripe. We hurried through customs into Canada and onto the parkade for our rental pickup, and we were greeted with friendly faces and helpful service. I can’t stress enough that it is the team members who make Alamo great! The rental return was also very smooth. Once again, we were met with friendly service.

  Car hired (Mon) had slow puncture at outset from Calgary Downtown. Flagged by me as soon as in car as warning light came on showing 25psi (instead of approx 38-40psi). Tire only blown up and clearly mot checked further. No further problems that day on drive to Banff or next as car not used due to exploring locally. Next morning, tire was back down to 23psi. We had booking in Lake Louise, so had to drive there on that. Found garage their after day trip and paid for air to get us back to Banff. I emailed Calgary office that evening to explain issue and ask for a local Banff / Canmore solution. Alamo acknowledged email and said team was 'on it'. I heard nothing the remainder of that day, nor all of the next. Plans abandoned and local / tourist buses taken instead. Next heard from Alamo the lunchtime of the following day saying either tire repair or new car pick up in Canmore would be possible. Due to activities we had on that day, this wouldn't be possible until the next day (Sat). I put more air in tire (23psi again) and drove to OK Tires (Canmore) first thing Sat morning. They said to come back at 11.45am. I contacted Alamo again to explain this would be yet another wasted day. Alamo replied that Canmore Alamo could provide a replacement car. I therefore abandoned tire repair and went to Alamo in Canmore. Alamo rep there was good and cleaned outside of car which was in a bit of a state from previous rental. Upon driving back to Banff I noticed 2 quite big chips in window and reported this back to Alamo upon arrival back at hotel in Banff. Trust was gone was car was only then used to drive to Cslgary airport at end of hol. Alamo waived petrol, one way fee and excess option I'd paid for. Frankly, I don't think I should be charged anything for the plans we had to change / abandon due to it taking from Wed to Sat to sort this out for a week long hire. Hence never planning to use Alamo again. An awful experience which ruined our week in Banff.
