Big shout out to the garage staff! They went above and beyond helping us ease our mind when we had a sensor failure on our way home from a camping trip. Without any formalities they checked our tire pressure and identified the problem within minutes. And as they were currently training new staff they even did it for free!
We’re more than impressed by the friendliness, support and generosity in our case. I hope they get the appreciation they deserve.

The staff are nice and friendly, great attitude. However they serviced an oil change and mentioned a ton of issues that should be addressed about my work truck. Considering that it’s front end components that impact stirring and safety, it shouldn’t take over a week to receive a quote… anyway I don’t think I’ll be using them for further servicing since they forgot to check that I have 2 light bulbs that need replacing :/

*UPDATE*
Two emails have been sent to the email address below provided by Fountain Tire's customer service/ feedback department. I still have not been contacted in regards to our ongoing issue even though they reached out to me for more details. We are still waiting for some accountabilty or compenastion for the damage done to our vehicle (which has still not been fixed).
We had great service in the past, but will never be back after what has happened recently with our vehicle. We brought our vehicle in to have the winters tires taken off the rims and the summers put on. We have had zero issues with the winter tires holding air over the winter. Fountain tire changed out the tires and we went on our way. By the time we got home the tires was very low. Pumped it up. Went low again. I drove back to Fountain tire (went low again and had them pump it up) and said it had gone flat 3 times and it had been less than a day since we had gotten the tires changed. They didn't have time to look at it, so I went home (went low again) and we took the wheel off. There was a HUGE gouge on the top of the inside of the rim and the tire isn't sealing. Obviously, it wasn't like this prior to dropping it off or we would have had flats over the winter. When we went back to show them, they weren't helpful at all and would take zero accountability for the damage. They said we MUST have hit a pothole. I'm sorry, I would have noticed a pothole big enough to do that amount of damage on the inside! We spoke to multiple employees both in person and on the phone and were given nothing but excuses. No help, refusal to fix the proplem. I am aboslutely blown away at how we were treated. They had every opportunity to make it right, instead they have lost loyal customers. It's really dissapointing to pay money for a service and have your property come back damaged at your expense.

Brought our truck in because it was shaking in the front was told it probably needed the tires balanced. I explained we did not want to repair by proccess of elimination. The guy said he balanced the tires charged us $78 we drove away and the front end was still shaking. We took it to Jacobson Ford only to be told the tires had a factory defect and they couldn't be balanced be cause the 2 front tires had bulges. We have always gone to Fountain Tire in Chilliwack and now in Salmon Arm but we will never go back, what an absolute joke this is a tire shop how could they not know the tires had bulges. We were ripped off.
Tires wear out over time, and how long they last depends on things like road conditions, driving habits, inflation, and temperature. The best way to know when to replace them is to check them regularly.
Common ways to measure tread include the following.
- Tread wear bars: When these are flush with the tread, it’s time to replace.
- Coin test: If too much of the coin shows, your tread is low.
- Tread depth gauge: The most accurate way to measure.
If your tread is low or you see cracks, bulges, or notice vibration, come see us.
What are some signs my vehicle is out of alignment?
It doesn’t take much to throw your alignment off—potholes, curbs, or just everyday driving. Poor alignment can lead to faster tire wear and poor handling.
Common signs include:
- Vehicle pulls to one side
- Crooked steering wheel
- Uneven tire wear
- Loose or unstable steering
- Vibration in the steering wheel
If something feels off, we’re happy to take a look.
What’s included in the seasonal car care package?
Our seasonal car care package gets your vehicle ready for the weather ahead. It includes:
- Fresh engine oil and filter
- Chassis lubrication (as needed)
- Charging and starting system check
- Brake inspection
- Fluid top-ups
- Belt and hose inspection
- Battery test
- Tire and pressure check
- Heating/cooling system check
- Lights, wipers, and overall safety check
It’s a great way to make sure your vehicle is ready for the season.
What do the numbers on my tires mean?
The numbers on your tire’s sidewall tell you the size, load rating, and speed rating.
Example: 225/55R17 97H
- 225 – Tire width (mm)
- 55 – Height as a % of width
- R – Radial construction
- 17 – Wheel diameter (inches)
- 97 – Load rating (how much weight it can carry)
- H – Speed rating (maximum safe speed)
These numbers help us match you with the right tire.
When should I put my winter tires on?
A good rule of thumb: when you can see your breath — about 7°C and below. At that temperature, all-season tires start to harden, while winter tires stay flexible and grippy. Booking early helps you beat the rush.
