- AKAjinkya KoradeMar 5, 20261.0I would strongly caution anyone renting from this National Car Rental location. I rented a vehicle for three days from this branch. When I returned the car, they pointed out a very tiny chip on the windshield something that was barely visible unless you looked extremely closely. It was not noticeable during normal inspection, and honestly I’m not even sure when it occurred. Despite this being a tiny chip that was almost impossible to see unless you looked very very closely, I was told the entire windshield would need to be replaced and that the car could not be rented again due to “safety reasons.” I was then charged a $500 deductible. I have rented from National Car Rental many times before and have also dealt with Enterprise, which owns National. In my experience with corporate locations, situations like this are handled much more reasonably. When I contacted Enterprise, they explained that this location is a franchise, meaning corporate cannot intervene. What was frustrating is how disproportionate the charge felt for such a tiniest chip, especially when it was barely visible. It left me with the impression that customers can easily be charged large deductibles for very minor issues. Trust me I have rented cars with major windshield chips from national and enterprise. There is no safety issue of this chip which they were fixated about. IT IS A SCAM!! Because of this experience, I would not recommend renting from this particular National Car Rental location.
