Not an honest experience.
I went in to repair a flat tire caused by a screw. They came back claiming the screw was “too big” and had damaged the internal structure, making the tire “not repairable.” They then suggested replacing all four tires for about $3,000.
I didn’t trust that, so I went to another shop and stayed to watch the inspection myself. The screw was small, the tire was perfectly repairable, and they fixed it quickly with no issues.
Based on my experience, I would be very cautious about trusting the upsells or recommendations at this location.

The guys at Fountain Tire repaired my almost new flat tire for FREE, while other tire shops on Marine dr tried to have it replaced for $600.
Great customer service and workmanship.

Couldn't be happier with the service I received. I had a slow leaking puncture that had been an issue for several months. I also needed my tires rotated. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the shop and of course, the friendliness and professionalism of the team. I mentioned that I had a time restraint and they not only met that request, they finished up earlier than expected. Great job. Highly recommended! Thank you!

I am very disappointed in Fountain Tire — at least the North Van, West 1st branch, to say the least.
I took my car in for a winter tire swap. I already had a set of Pirelli winter tires that had only been used for one season, but they told me the tires were “not safe” and recommended buying a new set, along with a full alignment and installation. I went along with their recommendation.
It was a Saturday, and I dropped the car off early in the morning. At 4:10 p.m., they called to say they were closing soon and had finished installing the tires, but couldn’t complete the alignment because the suspension supposedly needed repairs. They said they’d call to schedule another appointment—but I still haven’t heard back.
It feels like they made their profit selling me new tires and then stopped caring about properly finishing the job. It’s been 10 days now, and I would not recommend trusting them with your car.
Tires wear out over time, and how long they last depends on things like road conditions, driving habits, inflation, and temperature. The best way to know when to replace them is to check them regularly.
Common ways to measure tread include the following.
- Tread wear bars: When these are flush with the tread, it’s time to replace.
- Coin test: If too much of the coin shows, your tread is low.
- Tread depth gauge: The most accurate way to measure.
If your tread is low or you see cracks, bulges, or notice vibration, come see us.
What are some signs my vehicle is out of alignment?
It doesn’t take much to throw your alignment off—potholes, curbs, or just everyday driving. Poor alignment can lead to faster tire wear and poor handling.
Common signs include:
- Vehicle pulls to one side
- Crooked steering wheel
- Uneven tire wear
- Loose or unstable steering
- Vibration in the steering wheel
If something feels off, we’re happy to take a look.
What’s included in the seasonal car care package?
Our seasonal car care package gets your vehicle ready for the weather ahead. It includes:
- Fresh engine oil and filter
- Chassis lubrication (as needed)
- Charging and starting system check
- Brake inspection
- Fluid top-ups
- Belt and hose inspection
- Battery test
- Tire and pressure check
- Heating/cooling system check
- Lights, wipers, and overall safety check
It’s a great way to make sure your vehicle is ready for the season.
What do the numbers on my tires mean?
The numbers on your tire’s sidewall tell you the size, load rating, and speed rating.
Example: 225/55R17 97H
- 225 – Tire width (mm)
- 55 – Height as a % of width
- R – Radial construction
- 17 – Wheel diameter (inches)
- 97 – Load rating (how much weight it can carry)
- H – Speed rating (maximum safe speed)
These numbers help us match you with the right tire.
When should I put my winter tires on?
A good rule of thumb: when you can see your breath — about 7°C and below. At that temperature, all-season tires start to harden, while winter tires stay flexible and grippy. Booking early helps you beat the rush.
