Had to get a interlock installed on my car. Got a appointment for the installation at 9am. When i got there the shop told me they dont have the device and it would be getting delivered later in the day. What should have been a 1-3 hour installation turned into 6 1/2 hours without my car being stuck in town. The only way i can think this experience could have been worst is if they blew up my car but still this has got to be one of the worst companies you can go with. How do you send me to a installation appointment when the shop didnt even have the item they were supposed to be installing.

A joke of a company. Nonstop problems and it's impossible to get ahold of anyone. No one is ever available through chat and good luck talking to someone in person. They should rename to "We're drunk and Worthless Inc."

There device has fried a battery and now an alternator. The device goes off when no one is in the vehicle and they are not accountable for it. Please go with a smaller company. Smaller companies tend to have better customer service.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
