  This was my first time renting through Penske, and while the vehicle itself was in great condition with no issues, the quoting process left a lot to be desired. When I was shopping around, I called a few places like U-Haul and Penske for rental quotes. The Penske representative I spoke with quoted me $139 after insurance, plus tax. Based on that, I expected the total to be around $150–160, which was a much better deal than U-Haul, so I accepted the offer and let them know I’d be taking an Uber to the location. However, when I arrived and went to the rental desk, the representative—Ivan—told me the total was now $215. That’s nearly a $100 difference from the original quote. I brought this up, and he admitted that he had made a mistake in the original quote. At that point, I was stuck: either pay the higher amount or spend even more on Ubers to get to another location. In the end, I reluctantly went through with it, but the whole experience felt misleading. If you're considering renting from Penske, make sure to get your quote in writing and double-check the final price before heading to the location. What happened to me felt pretty sketchy and avoidable.

  Extremely disappointed with Penske. I tried to rent a truck for a personal move, but was abruptly denied — with no proper explanation. The representative claimed they "suspected" I was using it for business purposes, which is simply not true. They offered no proof, no reasoning, just a flat-out refusal. Honestly, it felt personal. Over the past few months, I had rented from Penske several times — sometimes to help friends move, and a couple times for myself to transport large items home. I always had good experiences with Penske in the past, which is why I recommended them to others and even made reservations under my name to take advantage of loyalty discounts for future moves. I was a returning, loyal customer — and being treated this way was honestly shocking and hurtful. When I calmly asked if they could provide a written reason for the denial, or at least point me to the specific Penske policy that justified their decision, they refused to do either. No transparency, no accountability. I used to trust Penske, but this experience changed everything. If you value professionalism and respect, look elsewhere. No one deserves to be treated this way, especially when you're just trying to move.
