Tom helped me out most recently with a battery and even slapped it in for us. Great customer service and even checked our old battery first to make sure that was the issue. After selecting the oil and bundle I needed, the associate told me to go get the items myself. There was no polite direction, just a gesture to the back of the store. I thought, "Okay, maybe this store is different," so I went and retrieved everything. They then confirmed they could do the air filters and oil filter, saying they would get those for me. I trusted their recommendations and went home. After watching a few YouTube videos and completing the oil change, I realized the associate had sold me the wrong air filter. I asked for a cabin air filter, but they gave me an engine air filter. I returned to the store with my wife and baby. I asked to return the incorrect filter, and the associate was begrudging. He then tried to charge me the full, non-discounted price for the correct filter. When I asked about the bundle deal, he told me I would have to return everything—including the oil already in my car—to get the discount. As if I'm going to drain my oil in your parking lot just to get the price I was promised! The manager eventually stepped in and offered me a 10% discount. Since it was late and my family was waiting, I reluctantly took my $2 discount and left. Instead of doing the right thing—like admitting their mistake, covering the price difference, or simply apologizing for the inconvenience and the wrong item—I was met with resistance. Your associates failed to live up to your company's motto of taking care of the customer. I have been a loyal AutoZone customer for decades, but not anymore. This was a truly terrible experience.
