- CSChristine SSep 14, 20251.0I took my Subaru in to have extensive rat damage repaired. When I went to pick up my car the first time, they had forgotten a couple of things (heat shield, cap for washer fluid). No big deal, they fixed them by the next day. When I actually drove my car away from the lot, I discovered that I no longer had an inside door handle on the driver's side door (have to roll down window to exit, or climb across the seat), my tires had never been inflated, and the engine distinctly smelled like it was burning. I talked to both Cam and Tristan last week. Cam said he would come look at my car. I refused to drive it back in due to the burning smell. He never did. No one has contacted me since then. What irritates me is the lack of communication. If something happened to my door handle during the repair, why did no one call me? I told them the tires were low. Cam said he did the test drive after everything was complete... but didn't notice that he couldn't exit the car normally? And did a test drive with all 4 tires around 16psi? If the engine was supposed to produce a burning smell after the work (that might go away), no one told me that either. I've since aired up the tires but I don't want to cause permanent engine damage if something is indeed wrong. I'm including pictures of the door handle and the difference when the tires were properly inflated. (I only managed to do 3 before I had to put my inflator back on the charger.) *this was an insurance claim so they are allowed to reopen the claim if further work is needed. At this point, I would strongly not recommend this shop.
