Rating is based on value versus experience and workmanship. I dropped my truck off a 97 7.3 L OBS. I wanted to have them do a general inspection and oil change. I also requested a fuel filter to be replaced (which wasn’t completed) and I had a fuel leak from the fuel bowl. Upon discovery and diagnosis, I was told that the fuel bowl would be replaced and a few other things were needed. That was either misheard or a misunderstanding, because they ended up just replacing the fuel bowl lines (3 rubber hoses) for $600. and then when that was complete, and the whole job was complete they told me I still have a fuel leak and that it’s coming from the lift pump. They quoted me $1900 to address the lift pump issue. Which is sort of frustrating considering they were basically just in that same location when they had the fuel bowl pulled out to replace those lines.
Aside from that there was a $200 inspection fee. They did an oil change, and a differential fluid change and leak fix. Overall, not a terrible experience, but I do feel the money wasn’t crazy well spent and perhaps a little bit overpriced as well as communication wasn’t as thorough And clear. Also, from the time I got my diagnosis and agreed to the charges they then had the truck for a pretty extended period beyond that and they weren’t working on it. They had it for about a week or two weeks after agreeing to diagnosis and I eventually called to check in. They let me know would be going on the lift tomorrow. Then I got the truck two days later. So it took a long time for the simple repairs also.
Finally, a couple workmanship complaints. As discussed it needed the lift pump and I replaced myself because I did not want to pay the $1900 for the repair. Which they quoted $400 for the lift pump part alone. I ended up getting an OEM Forde part on the Internet brand new for $170.When I went back in there not only did I find a pry bar underneath the air filter, but I also found a strictly diesel pen below the fuel bowl and a disconnected line, and finally, they did not do any cleanliness while they were in that location. Meaning they did not clean the area which for a good work environment you would think you would clean some debris in different things out of there so you can make sure you’re doing a good clean job. Just my opinion
Overall, two stars, not sure if I’d come back, Collin was my service rider, and because of the issues I mentioned above with the clarity of communication overall so so experience.
