I went to half price auto for my Intoxalock installation. How very disappointing. I paid 375 for installation when I was told it would be 350$ when I set up my appointment. No one came out to show me how to use the device, I paid and they just handed me my keys! I guess I was supposed to figure it out on my own! A young guy came over and helped me when he noticed I could not start my car thank goodness. I noticed where they installed the camera between my windshield and dashboard on passengers side there were 3 cracks in my windshield stemming from the dashboard going upward. When we brought it to the owner’s attention, they said “We didnt do that, that crack must’ve already been there and you just noticed it now that the camera is in the corner! I told them it was absolutely not there. I drive this car every day. Completely lied to my face and accepted no responsibility. He said he had a picture of my car that they take one before working on it, never showed it to me. There was no crack in my windshield before dropping it off! Look at the position of the camera wire under the crack in my windshield. Pretty easy to figure out. Do not take you car here! So sad people can’t admit when they do something wrong, not an apology. He said he would waive my first 54$ calibration. No thanks I’d rather pay someone double that than ever take my car back here!

"Pésimo servicio y falta de profesionalismo. Tienen problemas graves con la instalación y los pagos. Te cobran las calibraciones aparte sin claridad y, lo peor de todo, me dejaron sin carro por 4 días, haciéndome perder tiempo y dinero. No les importa el cliente. No lo recomiendo para nada."

Incompetence or cheats. Go anywhere else. It cost me more money to fix what they messed up.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
Can I install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle I don’t own?
Yes, in most cases, you can install an ignition interlock device in a vehicle you regularly drive, even if you’re not the registered owner. However, the vehicle owner must provide consent for the installation. Intoxalock works with you and the owner to ensure compliance with state regulations and the successful setup of the device.
