Jesus made this experience very seamless for us. The boat we rented was brand new and beyond our expectations. The waterside was a big hit. Jesus was courteous, professional and took great care to explain the boat operating system to us. We would highly recommend Westside Recreation and will definitely do this again. Our experience was very memorable with the added bonus of wild burros on the shorelines. Thank you Jesus.

We had the most wonderful afternoon on lake pleasant.after renting a boat and captain todd through Westside Recreation We had 12 ladies and the captain who was funny, informative and a great driver. We brought prosecco, wine , and made a charcuterie board. The weather was superb and we saw donkeys on the canyon and eagles fly through the sky. I Would highly recommend this top notch company.

We had an amazing experience with Westside Recreation! From start to finish, the team was friendly, helpful, and made everything easy so we could just enjoy our day on the water. The boat was in great condition, and the whole rental process was smooth and stress free. We rented a tube which was super easy as well!
It really felt like they cared about making sure we had a great time at Lake Pleasant. Everything felt handled with real care and attention, rather than feeling rushed.
We had such a fun, relaxing day and would absolutely rent from them again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great lake day experience!

The boat rental itself was great and the staff member we worked with initially was very helpful. Unfortunately, the way this company handles issues afterward is a completely different story.
Our anchor got stuck (an accident, not negligence), and we were charged a $250 fee for something that would typically cost MAYBE $50.
After contacting the company we were told we could replace it ourselves with a 10–13 lb anchor and rope.
We did exactly that and brought a replacement that matched what was described. Then suddenly it “wasn’t the right one” because it wasn’t what they carry — something that was never mentioned before. At that point, it felt like the requirements were being changed after the fact just to justify keeping the fee.
We were then shown a photograph of an anchor they carry (which was cheaper than the one we bought to replace it with) and accused of trying to buy them a cheap anchor. We were then told the company is not used to dealing with situations like this because people typically just pay the fee.
We understand lost or broken equipment needs to be replaced, so we made a genuine effort to fix the situation quickly and reasonably, but that didn’t seem to matter. The communication from management was inconsistent and came across as more focused on enforcing the charge than working toward a fair resolution.
It’s disappointing because this could have been handled in a straightforward and reasonable way. Instead, it turned into a frustrating back-and-forth over unclear expectations.
If you rent here, I would strongly recommend getting very specific, written confirmation of any damage or replacement policies ahead of time — including exact types or brands — so you don’t end up in a similar situation.
I would still hope the company reconsiders and resolves this fairly, but based on this experience, I’d be cautious.

We had the opportunity to rent a pontoon from Westside Recreation while visiting friends. While everything started out well (shout out to the kid who met us at the parking lot, gave us instructions, and spoke with us throughout the few hours we had rented the boat), our overall experience was poor. The anchor became lodged in presumed rocks at the bottom of the lake and we were unable to retrieve it. We called the kid who helped us start the day, and he advised how we could continue to try to get the anchor removed, and when that did not work, said it is best to leave it and we will be charged to replace it, which is reasonable. We didn’t realize until after the fact that it is a $250 “flat charge” for this even though the anchor and rope is ~$50-$100. Nowhere in the paperwork does it mention a $250 flat fee. Anyway, we tried to discuss this further with who we assume the manager or owner is, in which we only got very short, unprofessional responses. We replaced the anchor, but this was not good enough, and he was extremely difficult to have a conversation with regarding the issue. A cherry on top of the whole situation is that they never told us the screen was broken before we rented the boat, so had no idea how much gas we had, our speed, dept, water temp etc. Customer service goes a long way, and unfortunately Westside is lacking in that department. Would not recommend renting from them due to this.
*addendum as I cannot respond to the owners response to this post*
At no point did we become “aggressive” and I’d be happy to share the text exchanges after the fact about the anchor regarding who was aggressive or not. We were told we could replace the anchor with a 10-13lb anchor. At no point were we given specifics, and we simply are not anchor experts. We did drive through town and purchase a rubber coated 13lb anchor in which we thought was similar the one that was lost and meet you without any clarification on which anchor you preferred. At the end of the day, our experience with Westside Boat Rentals was spoiled due to your rude texts and extreme difficulty to work with, hence the poor rating. I do apologize if your family is offended by the honesty in the matter, but as stated above, customer service goes a long was and is simply lacking here which lead to our negative review. I will not be bullied into not sharing my opinion on the matter and this is the only way in which I am able to share that opinion.
