I’d say it’s not sensitive like other devices meaning I can have gum, or breath mints in my mouth, I can spray perfume, I can use mouth wash and it won’t give you a false reading the breathing technique used for the device is a lot more complex than others so it doesn’t matter what you use so long as it isn’t alcohol! Love that btw. The only real thing that bothered me about this company is the fact that they don’t tell you upfront you’re paying some extra $95 fee your first bill on top of that bill! I like that it doesn’t have many error codes pop up and not sensitive! Just need a better connection so it’s not in the way! Overall better than my husbands interlock super sensitive!

I ended up getting locked out of my car because I did not report vehicle maintenance being done. The supervisor at Intoxalock contacted me and very kindly asked me what happened. I explained the situation and he graciously refunded my money that I had to pay for the lockout not only that he paid me back for what I had to pay to get the calibration done. In Job my book, this is a five star review. You never hear of a company going to these Extremes to make Customer happy. I am very satisfied with the service that Toxalock gave me.

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
