This public EVgo charging station in Gilbert provides fast EV charging for all major electric vehicles. Located on N Arizona Ave, it’s near WinCo Foods, Costco, and Popeye's. The location offers 24/7 access and has CCS and CHADEMO connectors. While charging, drivers can visit nearby shops or grab food within walking distance. Customers can use the EVgo app to view charger availability, track sessions, and view Time of Use pricing.
I’ve used the EVgo charging station in the WinCo parking lot in Mesa three different times, and each experience has been smooth and reliable.
The location is convenient and easy to access right off the main parking area, with plenty of room to pull in and plug in without feeling cramped. Being at WinCo is a big plus. It makes it easy to knock out grocery shopping while the car charges, which is exactly how public fast charging should work.
Most importantly, all three sessions started without issue, charged at expected speeds, and ended cleanly in the app. No glitches, no payment problems, no communication errors with the vehicle. After dealing with inconsistent performance at some other networks, that kind of reliability really stands out.
For anyone in the Mesa area looking for a dependable fast charge, this EVgo location has been consistently solid in my experience. Convenient, functional, and hassle free.

I’ve always had a success charging at this station. The only one thing would be their parking space situation. It’s really tight and not very convenient to charge. I have a Chevron bolt and my charger is in front on the driver side. Today I went to charge in the evening around 7:30. There was an older black man there in a dark color Tesla on the far right charger. And while driving up, he had his door wide open so I park right next to him, but unfortunately, not close enough to where I can use the right charger. So I ended up using the middle charger feeling like I don’t really need to be intrusive in his space. The left charger was also taken up by another vehicle. About 10 minutes another car drives up and park right near him on the right side. And he started complaining and getting upset because he felt like he had to leave so the car that recently pull up can charge. I had my window rolled up but can still briefly heard him yelling intentionally aggressive words about me that I should have been the one to move. Not sure what his problem was. But I end up, rolling my window down and yell out the window, telling him that that charger does not reach my car. He just started bickering some more about something totally different than what he was screaming about, then left. I felt very uncomfortable after that and threatened that he instigated something for the other driver to dislike me. Not sure if it’s because I’m Asian or a girl and he fell like he had to blame someone. And not expect me to say anything. All in all I feel like a lot of men that I run into that throws this big tantrum needs to go and get a mental check up or needs to get locked up, walking around aggressively in public isn’t safe for everyone else.
