I clearly explained that I do not give out my private phone number because I do not want unsolicited marketing or advertising messages. The employee then told me that I could not receive a warranty unless I provided a phone number, which is factually incorrect. A warranty can be validated with a receipt and payment record, including a credit card statement. There is no legal requirement to surrender personal contact information to receive a warranty. The interaction became increasingly unprofessional, arrogant, and condescending, to the point where I chose not to complete the purchase and left the store. AutoZone should train its staff properly on warranty policies and customer privacy. Forcing customers to give up personal information under false pretenses is unacceptable.

Earlier that day i went to another AUTOZONE and was given false information and made the wrong purchase. After researching I called my neighborhood AUTOZONE which will be my number 1 choice from now on, and received great information and the right product. WAY TO GO STORE 299. To add THEY WORKED TOGETHER and took care of me. 😀
