- MLMichael LichterAug 15, 20251.0Contacted Gerber after my daughter got rear ended. Took it there for an estimate. The damage to the car was all in the back end; up to the middle of wheel well. I asked for an estimate to get the damages fixed. I also had them send the estimate to State Farm ( the other drivers insurance). They gave me an estimate and the car was totaled. They also did an inspection of the whole vehicle without my approval. They sent their private inspection to State Farm WITHOUT my approval nor knowledge. They never gave me the same information. Their inspection included engine, transmission, tires, carpet, seats, dash board. I find it hard pressed to say they're an expert in engine and transmissions. Their inspection was biased and they never sent me the pictures and data they sent to State Farm. I never got to discuss Gerber's findings; even though I was the customer. The only way I found out they were involved is that State Farm released some of their pictures when I complained of discounts. Their bias affected the cash value. They said that's part of the estimate...but the estimate they sent me didn't have anything about those items. In experiencing this I'd say that Gerber and State Farm are working together. This isn't about the money; it's about them doing things behind the car owners back. All they had to do is be honest and up front. Be careful when dealing with GM Matt Smith.

Everyone was very communicative, extremely pleasant (especially Cassandra), and worked very diligently to complete it within the time frame from day 1. The original estimation was higher than the actual cost, which was such a relief! Thank you Gerber Collision Team!!
