My muffler disconnected from the exhaust on my 2008 Nissan Versa. They were able to get it reattached and, though it started rattling after I left, the next day they were able to fix it quickly without any additional charge or fuss. 👍 The whole process was quick and affordable and I was fortunate enough to be able to drive right up! Didn't have to schedule. I did call ahead though to check availability.

Agreed to $200 diagnostics, misdiagnosed vehicle, took $600 cash to repair, gave.verbal 1 year guaranty, car no better than day 1. When called to address issue and request refund, owner was rude, cursed & hung up on me. Wouldn’t give one ⭐️ but had to to post review.

Muffler Plus is one of the best shops in town from exhausts to repairs. They do excellent work
The exhaust system in your vehicle serves multiple purposes. It redirects harmful gases away from the engine compartment and passenger area, reduces the amount of pollutants released into the environment, and plays a role in maintaining optimal fuel efficiency and engine performance.
How do I know if my muffler or exhaust system needs repair?
Several indicators suggest potential issues with your muffler or exhaust system. These include unusually loud engine noises, decreased fuel efficiency, noticeable vibrations or rattling underneath the vehicle, strong exhaust odors, and an illuminated check engine light. If you observe any of these signs, we recommend scheduling a professional inspection promptly.
What causes mufflers and exhaust components to fail?
Mufflers and exhaust components can deteriorate due to various factors. These include corrosion from rust and road salt, accumulation of moisture, impact damage from road hazards like potholes, inadequate support from worn hangers or mounts, and natural wear over time. These issues can lead to leaks, cracks, or breaks in the exhaust system.
Is it safe to drive with an exhaust leak?
Driving with an exhaust leak is not recommended due to safety concerns. Such leaks can allow carbon monoxide to enter the vehicle interior, negatively impact engine performance, and potentially cause damage to other vehicle components. We advise having your vehicle inspected immediately if you suspect an exhaust leak.
How often should the exhaust system be inspected?
For optimal vehicle maintenance, it's advisable to have your exhaust system examined during each oil change service, or at minimum, once annually. Regular inspections help identify early signs of rust, loose components, or leaks, allowing for timely repairs.
What's the difference between a muffler and the full exhaust system?
The muffler is a specific component designed to reduce engine noise. In contrast, the full exhaust system is more comprehensive, encompassing the exhaust manifold, catalytic converter, resonator, pipes, sensors, and the muffler itself. This complete system works in unison to manage emissions, control sound, and regulate airflow from the engine.
Will a new muffler make my car louder or quieter?
The effect of a new muffler on your vehicle's sound depends on the type you choose. Original equipment manufacturer (OEM) style mufflers typically provide a quieter, standard sound. Alternatively, performance mufflers can produce a deeper or louder tone, varying based on their design. Our technicians can assist you in selecting a muffler that achieves your desired sound profile.
What is a catalytic converter, and why is it important?
A catalytic converter is a crucial exhaust system component that reduces harmful emissions. It functions by converting toxic gases produced by the engine into less harmful substances. This component is essential for meeting emissions standards and ensuring proper vehicle operation.
Why is my check engine light on?
The illumination of your check engine light can be attributed to various factors. Common causes include a loose gas cap, issues with the oxygen sensor, problems with spark plugs or the ignition system, faults in the emissions system, or malfunctions in other sensors. To determine the exact cause, a professional diagnostic assessment is necessary.
Are used tires safe to buy?
The safety of used tires can vary significantly based on factors such as age, condition, wear patterns, and previous usage. While properly inspected used tires can be safe, automotive experts emphasize the importance of thoroughly examining tread depth, sidewall condition, and the department of transportation (DOT) age code before making a purchase. These checks help ensure the tire's safety and suitability for use.
